Baobab Resort Hotel and Spa

My family, friends and I just spent a week at this beautiful resort and had the most amazing time. The facilities were great and most staff really attentive, especially James in the restaurants and Humphrey in the bar. Humphrey serves by far the best cocktails!! The accommodation was okay and as expected for Kenya but could do with brightening up and in some of the rooms not all the facilities were working, These were mainly minor things though to be honest. For anyone venturing on the beach you will be mobbed by the locals who absolutely need your business following covid. Not all are honest so please do ask for Stefan if you are interested in doing trips or jet skis, visit Moses to buy your gifts and lastly I would thoroughly recommend a massage by Mercy.

Amazing Every time!

I've lost count of how many times I've been a visitor at Diani Sea Lodge and I keep returning simply because of the amazing customer service I receive each visit. The rooms are clean and comfortable though you'll find you won't spend much time indoors. It is a lovely beach front hotel with plenty of sunbeds and outside seating areas. It has two pools, one is for children. Food is tasty and there is always variety! You can request a seafood platter at a very pocket friendly cost. The bar will have all your favourites and the snack bar will keep you well fed if you don't want to go to the main restaurant. It's exactly the place you want to be for a relaxing, stress free holiday.

Southern Palms Beach Resort

This dramatic hotel with its fantastic pools and beautiful beach is the perfect spot to relax after a safari… or simply visit to relax! The warm and very African feel of the hotel with comfortable rooms, well appointed bathrooms and selection of restaurants offers guests plenty of places to lounge in the sun and almost as many shady spots to enjoy a bit of a breeze and a good book. All rooms have quiet, split unit air conditioners, televisions, mini fridges and coffee and tea making facilities. There is a safe (chargeable) in each room and a business center located in the main building with internet or wifi access in public areas. The drama of the huge, traditional makuti (thatched) roof in the main restaurant offers the Chef a terrific showcase for a varied selection of local and international dishes on the buffet or you could indulge at one of the a la carte restaurants (chargeable) for a special occasion or just a quiet evening for two.

Good facility

Reviewed By rv0106

This resort is a vast one with spacious rooms, well laid out amenities, good spread of culinary dishes (native, continental, asian etc.) and evening entertainment. The beach is clean with soft white sand. The massage in the spa was worth its value. The service was overall good. Things we felt need to be done differently or better are: charging for safety locker in the room, water and the rigid process needed for reserving table in the restaurants (these are separate from the buffet offered in the common dining hall).

Finally number 8

Well, another review. After a 2 year break due to all the crap in the world, I have, at last, had my 8th trip to the Papillon. Sadly ,it wasn,t the usual time of the year for my visit, I usually go in mid November. I had my usual wonderful greeting from the reception people ,( even the Man U supporters ). That was my first indication of changes. There was a young lady working with the men, and later on I found that it was a new policy in the whole hotel. It was good to see. Even Vincent, the egg expert, had his own lovely assistant.!!!! It was not long that I realised that quite a few old friends were not working there any more. Due to the bad 2 years, some had retired, also some had left for pastures new, but many were still there, and what a wonderful greeting I got, from the top people, down the ranks. I must admit it was quieter than in November, but this just the start of a long recovery period. I have no doubt with all the wonderful staff, the future looks good. To the holiday itself, it was just the same as all the others, superb. To much food, booze and sun . Went home ,overweight again, but very happy and hopefully ,look forward to doing it all again. Thank you everybody for a wonderful . A happy old man yet again.!!!!

Kaskazi Beach Resort

Welcome to Kaskazi Beach Hotel. Kaskazi Beach Hotel is a Four Star beach resort conveniently located in Kenya’s world famous South Coast on the Diani Beach line, and only a short walking distance from the beach area shopping centre, restaurants, and banks. The resort has been turning moments into memories for our guests for over 18 years. The resort's magnificent architecture (modeled after 5th century Sunni Arab palaces), coupled with the ingenious use of the landscape to create cascading ocean view terraces surrounded by hanging gardens makes it a one of a kind resort in all of the East African coast line. THE RESORT EXPERIENCE: Kaskazi Beach Hotel provides unparalleled options and unique experiences to our guests, from on foot beach tours exploring surrounding beaches and venues, to onsite resort experiences including three restaurants, three bars and lounges, all day long sports and activities provided by our entertainment team, nightly entertainment, a kid's club, and so much more. Other Activities: For sightseers and adventurers alike, guests will have ample "must do" activities such as swimming with wild dolphins at our neighbouring Wasini Island, visiting the ancient port city of Mombasa (Old Town) where one is taken back to a time long lost as the charming city retells its history through its ancient buildings, tiny streets laden with colourful shop fronts and restaurants, and of course, the famous remains of Fort Jesus. For those who want to explore the Diani Beach night life, take one of our resort’s taxi cabs to the famous Ali Barbour and The Forty Thieves beach bar and dance club located only a five minute drive from the resort. There you can dance under the stars and directly on the white sands of Diani Beach. Why choose this resort: The fact that over 50% of our guests are repeat guests who have come to Kaskazi Beach Hotel two to three times a year for over 18 years says a great deal about us. Otherwise, our great and all too caring staff who are always eager to assist you, our excellent cuisine (rated the best in the South Coast by Europe’s largest Travel Agency, TUI), our flexibility in Meal Plans (All-Inclusive or Half-Board), our extremely reasonable rates, and our convenient location, will ensure that you get everything and more than you expect.

2022 Easter my personal review

Reviewed By piombevi

From my 4 nights and 5 days stay over the Easter holiday 2022, I would say Kaskazi is Not a world class facility, despite its huge potential and strategic location. The building is old and needs urgent maintenance, Bathrooms with old rusted metallic taps and knobs and unpleasant smell. However, let me give due credit to the chefs at the restaurant, the food was ever wonderful, the cleaning staff for their routine room cleaning and change of linen, security guys at the gate, and warm reception staff. As I said, there's huge room for improvement.

Amazing people and beautiful location

Reviewed By TravelMagnet1

Along with my family I would like to thank Amani Tiwi staff for a great time and share some of my experiences. Location: Amani Tiwi has a naturally beautiful, perfectly picturesque and a very peaceful location. It is a great place for unwinding, relaxing and sun tanning. Just imagine a spacious and clean sandy beach, tall coconut palms casting a welcome shade on lounge chairs and hammocks hanging between the trees, and all that with the background of soothing sound of ocean waves. True paradise in the Kwale county. People: Very friendly customer service, great waiters (Kelvin and Simon). Excellent entertainment provided by the amazing Animation Team: volleyball on the beach, polo in the water, aqua aerobics, yoga and all the extra activities all day long. Special thanks to Amani (Ishmael) and Gaga (Khamis) for their performances, their love of music, dance, acrobatics … and humor (guys, dream big and keep your dreams alive!!!). Thank you to Robert and Charlie as well. Beach Boys: I loved the exposure to the friendly locals frequenting the beach and at the same time respectfully keeping distance from the resort’s area. Although the reason they are there is to sell their services or products and make some much needed money, you can easily engage them in a very frank and truthful conversation about their lives. But … watch out!!! They might know some words and expressions in your language ?. Your conversation may turn out quit funny … or … not so much … lol. Their stories gave me some basic understanding of the very poor standard of their lives and no much hope for better future. This prompted me to make my own research on the social and economic situation in Kenya. Thank you Beach Boys!!! Food: good variety at each meal. Delicious and interesting traditional food; goat meat, coconut rice, variety of flat breads and the amazing mandazi doughnuts. Monkeys: I am sure they are a nuisance to the resort and staff, but the family of monkeys was a great entertainment to me, and I am sure to other guests as well … it seemed though they liked the doughnuts even more than me … lol. Although I truly enjoyed the stay, I would like to suggest a few things if I may; • Better access to beach towels. There was no towel kiosk at the beach and not enough clean towels in general • Room updates and renovations. Outdated bathrooms and flooding showers. The entire facility uplift and maintenance needed in general • Improvement to the WiFi service • More bar staff for better and faster service, especially in the evenings Overall, the location, the people and the service was great, and I will definitely recommend the resort to others. In closing, understanding the unjust enrichment and unfair labour practices in Kenya, I would like to thank the Amani Tiwi staff and praise them for their smiling faces and making sure our stay was as great and enjoyable as possible. ASANTE SANA!!!
