An absolutely fantastic breakfast!

Reviewed By meinirann

Stayed here for one night on the way to Northern Italy during a 16 day tour of Puglia. It’s a shame that we only had one night here as it’s such a lovely hotel. I simply cannot fault it. I’m surprised it’s classed as a 3 star hotel as I would say it was a 4 star hotel. First off, there’s the view. I had a gorgeous view of the sea from my room. My room was lovely. Not huge in size, but a perfectly adequate size, and very well decorated. The room was nice and light and the blue colour scheme was relaxing. It had a lovely en suite bathroom with everything you could need apart from a facecloth, so you’ll need to bring one of those with you. The hotel has free wifi, which is available in the bedrooms, and there is a flat screen tv in the bedroom too. The food at the hotel was amazing, especially the breakfast, which had a huge variety of items - everything you could possibly need and more. They even had meringues! The evening meal was just as lovely. There was a buffet with nibbles to start with, which included items like devilled eggs and bruschetta, before going on to the hot food. I highly recommend this hotel, and would definitely stay here again myself.

The Chalets and the hotel itself come alive at night during peak summer period with music and dancing. Francesca will look after you from the moment you book in to the final farewell. Don't go to this hotel!

Reviewed By Michal J

I planned to stay with my family in this hotel for whole week in July 2013. First surprise after arrival - except 1 young lady (owners daughter?) nobody speaks english or german. Second surprise - hotel parking. Cars were blocked by other cars so if you want to go somewhere with car you have to say it by dinner day before that your car is on next day unblocked - no spontaneous trips! Third surprise - food was terrible. We had dinner on arrival day and this dinner was really bad so we thought it was just accidentally bad. No, it wasn't - breakfast was even worse than dinner. Not to be negative only: The room was clean with air conditioning, safe and small balcony. Hotel Haiti is directly on the beach and and only trees you can see in front of hotel are the palm trees. We left hotel Haiti after first night, I can't imagine to stay whole week there.

Really kind

My night in this tiny village was really pleasant, even if it is not a total new furnished village, was tidy and comfy for a stay with different friends. The best was the couple at the reception, they were incredibly kind and friendly. Unfortunately, as it was winter time, we did not have the chance to enjoy the village.

This place was a disappointment from the start. It is located right on the main thoroughfare of a gritty little town. Set back from the street, the long drive is overgrown, with light fixtures skewed., and inoperable. We arrived on a late Sunday afternoon, to be greeted by no one. We wrestled with our own bags while we waited for the front desk attendant. When she did arrive, she informed us that the spa was not operational and that the restaurant was also closed but just the tonight. The room was touted as superior and it was NOT. It was 27.5 °C (about 81°F) and the AC was not operational. The bathroom had no space to put a toiletry bag. The shower was so small that a normal size person could not turn around in it. The hotel staff—while polite—was remarkable unaccommodating. The information re restaurants open on Sunday night was only half correct. While there were brochures available, the staff had little information about the area. They had no idea how come we were unable to get English speaking channels on the TV. It was clear to us that the situation was not going to get any better. With no indication that the spa was going to get fixed anytime soon, we cut our losses and got out of there! To add insult to injury, Villa Picena declined to our request for a refund for the unused nights in a particularly dismissive manner. There may well be beautiful places in Marche worth the visit, but this town and this hotel are definitely not.

Our room had a balcony in front across from the pool and a large covered patio in the back. The room and bed were comfortable. This suite has two tv's and a big bathroom. There was also a bar and coffee shop by the pool with table service. We will alwasy stay here when in Grottamare.
