Fantastic hotel with excellent service

Reviewed By 373colinb

I would have to say this is one of the best hotels I have stayed at in across many european holidays and indeed the service provided by staff compares favourably with holidays in Middle East or Far East which are of a very high standard. The Covid rules compliance and general cleanliness were exceptional. Normally I would say 5 stars but see a couple of improvements I think are needed at the hotel. Going back to exceptional staff I would like to say that Thanisas, Anna and Vaso in the morning and evening restaurant staff are 3 people who stand out above the rest but the real star of the hotel is Alena (from Czech Republic) who coordinates many of the day time entertainment activities plus supports the restaurants staff in the evening. I think she is only there for part of the year but is such a great asset to the hotel given her bubbly personality and sense of humour. Some of the improvements needed I think are: Firstly improve the evening entertainment which I think is below the standard I would expect of a 5 star resort. Some of tribute bands were average at best Secondly the hotel should look to improve the food quality at the evening buffet. Introduce more service areas cooking food to order rather than just delivery trays of cooked food which sometimes were dry (especially the fish). I know this may take a little bit more time but the quality would be enhanced and better customer satisfaction achieved. In the time of our holiday we ended up eating out 5 times as there are a few good restaurants nearby why I have commented on separately. Having said all this I would highly recommend the hotel and would be happy to stay here again although may consider B&B basis given the comments made above.

A very good resort

Reviewed By Vegard_Maldivitis

We stayed for a week during the end of September/ start of October 2022. This is a lovely resort! The layout is very nice, with only low buildings (3 floors, except the main building which might had 4). There are two pools and the resort is also located beach front, with the ocean at your doorsteps. The resort has a nice design overall, and it has a good atmosphere. We had a room in the 1st floor which was overlooking the smaller pool. We were somewhat happy with the room, but nothing more than what you can expect from a 5-star resort either. I would avoid the ground floor rooms if you are looking for privacy. We went for the all inclusive plan as we love to not having to think about the bill when on holiday. That being said; If we went b&b we really would not have spent more, so we were not really saving money on choosing the meal plan. Not all drinks and cocktails are included: Only two types od local draught beer was included, and neither of the G&Ts were. But there were still lots of cocktails to choose from, and the local wines were included (also bottles) and they were actually better than expected. The cocktails were also mostly good. Prices for local draught beer was 5, Corona 6 and weissbeer 7. Most cocktails were between 10-15 EUR (and a few costing more). The fine dining a la carte restaurant is not included either, but the other a la carte and buffet restaurants were. I am not sure we would have chosen the all inclusive plan if we went again, unless more of the beverages were included, as we did also order items that were chargeable, making it less good value for money. Food wise, the buffet restaurant had the best food. We really enjoyed our meals there. The a la carte restaurants could have some better quality. Some dishes were great, but not all of them, and there should either be more choices in the menu, or more rotation on a daily basis. After some days it becomes repetitive and not too much to choose from. The pool bar was also very nice, but it did fill up after dinner with few available seats. There was also a bar at the roof terrace, but few people were using it in the evenings. I guess it was mostly because it was not very cosy. The architecture was very pretty, but there were too many hard surfaces. So adding some plants/ trees and maybe some torches would soften it up, and more people would use it. That way the guests would spread out more for after dinner drinks, and the pool bar would be less crowded. That being said, they now seem to have added a new bar which might have solved the issue. What really stands out in this resort is the staff! The service is simply phenomenal! I would like to especially thank Michalis and Giota at Armira Restaurant and the other Michalis at Royal Blue buffet restaurant. A few improvements and I would rate this resort with 5 stars. We had a lovely holiday at Port Royal, and we would not mind going back at all.

Low quality buildings. Substandard rooms

Reviewed By Y5760WGrobinm

So we are just wrapping up a weeks stay here and I must say it most nights have been horrible. This is due to the buildings soundproofing. Every evening there is the standard entertainment of music and first of all it’s extremely loud. Louder than necessary because the audiences is 2 feet from the performer, but the main problem is that there is now soundproofing in the rooms. So if you don’t want to enjoy the show you can’t go to your room because it’s literally no difference if your in your room or 2 feet from the stage. Everything else is fine for a all inclusive and the service has been amazing.

Family hotel where kids can’t sleep!

Reviewed By Holidaymaker9999999

It’s hard to leave a positive review for a hotel aimed at families when family rooms are near the entertainment run by a rude, egotistical DJ who blasts club music out until 11.30 pm. Same during the day, large family pool with music blaring out so loud you can’t relax let alone let the kids anywhere near the speakers. All totally unnecessary and ruins an otherwise very good hotel. Also dining room chairs and tables are not cleaned and you have to sit on dirty chairs at dirty tables surrounded by dirty plates. Not great.

First and sadly, last time. Hotel is basic with no atmosphere. Room maids were the best thing about this place

Reviewed By S1m0nster

So let’s start with the positive, the Sun shone. Ok this is not the first time staying at an all Inclusive, but is the first time staying after restrictions have been lifted. So you can imagine, it is exciting to get away. Well what a damp squib the complex is. The main problem is there is no atmosphere. You have a sitting audience of people from several nations wishing to enjoy themselves. The entertainment team appears to consist of one pink haired woman that does aqua aerobics at lunch, then appears for the junior disco. There is no entertainment throughout the day, the junior disco was usually it. The one night there was bingo, we got a face of disgust when said we weren’t staying!! Welcome meeting was slack and held by Janice who had been on the island for 32 years but knew nothing about it. Slightly disturbing how she kept scratching and fiddling with herself and tapping a guest in the face with a map of the island that confused her with NSEW arrows. But if you have any questions, like she was presented with, use the app was the reply. Thanks Janice, what was your purpose? Also the app doesn’t work. The food was repetitive. There were themed evenings, but it’s a mish mash of what has been served before. It wasn’t that appealing first time round. However, the desserts saved the day occasionally - apart from one holiday maker making their way to the front of the queue, cutting a slice of ‘flan’ and then realising she had no plate. There were few staff clearing tables. If there was a pot wash area, then guests could take their crockery there perhaps. The Grill area was also basic with kebab meat and sausages day after day. But don’t forget to take a plate as the server was not helpful with this issue. In fact, quite rude. Was told there were three pools. This is not the case. There is a main pool surrounded by the rooms and then two pools at the villas. This was disappointing. The location is not great for families as there is little to do outside the complex, not saying there is a lot to do inside the complex. The lack of staff was also noticeable on the small swings and slide area. This was supposed to be open 0900-2100. Every night 23:00 and there were still teenagers in this. Why? Someone should take control of this and make people aware it is only available at certain times. Grounds and lawn are maintained on a daily basis often disturbing the calm to sunbathe. Not a great impression on your first day. Shortage of sunbeds was noticeable. There were not enough. Just be aware if you are planning to use. Usual story - all reserved by 0730. There is a place to get a massage, however there was no other treatments you’d expect at a 5 star resort. In short, first and last time here. Oh and don’t arrive in the early hours as we did, you’ll wake the man on Reception in pitch darkness. As we were leaving, earlier travellers received a full breakdown of meal structure, towels and other things that we would have liked to known at the start and not as we were leaving If there was staff to ask these points of, a manager perhaps, then I would have happily done so.

Peaceful place

Worth the price. Quiet, no animation, no irritating music. Always a lot of places near the pool. Very good beverages at the pool bar, good enough local wine. The hot food should be hotter. Restaurant staff, please do not hurry to take plates while a person is eating from it. Cleaning should not begin when it's still breakfast time.

We visited myrina beach hotel at the beginning of June 22, awesome location and wonderful view. The staff was always friendly and cheerful! You can always find sunbeds at beach and pool free of charge. Also very clean space for both public and private. Big plus the nightly entertainment program, we really had fun! Very convenient location on the island, it is about half an hour away from any interesting attraction of the island. I will be visiting it again soon with my kids as I saw several kids having fun with the kids club activities.

Amazing holiday!

Reviewed By AilsaThomson

We are just back from a week at this beautiful hotel and our first time in Rhodes. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left the staff did everything they could to make sure we had the best time! Massive thanks to Panos the bar/restaurant manager who took me through all the dishes in the restaurant every meal as I have a nut allergy. The food is fantastic and there is a great choice for all tastes! One of the best I have had in a hotel. Romeo is fantastic and made every meal time feel special with his lovely welcome and being so attentive! The hotel itself is absolutely spotless in the rooms and round the pool. You are greeted with a smile from every member of staff - they are all a credit to the hotel. We treated ourself to a massage by Yiannis and wow… easily the best massage I have had in my life! We don’t normally have a massage on holiday but it takes place in a private gazebo outside which made it a really unique experience. Yiannis is a master at what he does and a lovely man, so good we had another at the end of the week. Daniel the animation manager provides the entertainment both during the day and at night, he really goes out his way to include everyone and is very enthusiastic - we had a lot of fun! The external shows that came in were very good too. Credit to Daniel for doing so much and with a smile! The only thing I would say is for families with young children, there’s not as much on for them to do to keep them entertained (there didn’t seem to be a kids club). But for adults and teenagers the hotel is perfect! Will be back!
