It is a nice place, not very cheap but still affordable, around 25 euros per person. Nice home wine from Dão region. The owner is a nice person and looks well after You.

If you have an overcast day in mid Portugal, what better way to spend it than with a fine ding experience at a fraction of the cost. The food is fabulous, the wine great ( and you can purchase on site ), the staff are exceptional, especially young 18 year old enthusiastic waitress, she was a very good find by the manager. We visited last year and had an equally good time, this year, was helped by the staff having better English than we had Portuguese. We were able,after lunch to purchase some of the excellent wines provided for our meal. Well done restaurant Cabriz, we are booked to come again next year so will be back. Thank you .

I found just two restaurants in Tripadvisor for Tondela, both without rating. Nevertheless I decided to visit both :-)
At San Barnabé I had lunch: olives, bread, white wine made the typical portuguese starter combination. The grilled Robalo was very good, the vegetables as side dish tasted well, too.
For desert I ordered an excellent mousse de ananas, worth a recommendation!

Lovely natural ambience. Homely traditional Portuguese food. Speciality lamb dish was very tasty. Service was very pleasant & menu was in English if required. Great wine recommended by the waiter & as you'd expect in this area of Portugal great value for money. Also properly laid tables which is sometimes hard to find in this area. Highly recommend .

While questing for a place to eat a late lunch in Caramulo, we followed a restaurant sign pointing off the main road into a residential neighborhood. Not sure what we'd find there, we had a very pleasant experience at Veranda da Serra.
Even with a language barrier, we were able to get across our preference for a vegetarian meal with some local cheese. Our young waiter brought out fresh bread, small salads, and two large plates with cheese and tuna -- simple but tasty fare.
Even if there wasn't a lot to pick from, this was a perfectly fine place to stop for a casual lunch.

Joaninha is a good option at lunch time. For 6,5€ you can have a complete meal (soup, main dishe, desert and coffee). Another advantage is the fact that there are always at least 3 options for the main......

Marte is a good example of lots of restaurants across Portugal providing good home-like cuisine with a friendly service.
It was very full for lunch, and we were hsppy we got there just before the "crowds" came.
We had "Vitela à Lafões" and enjoyed it.
I think that giving it 3 rather than 4 may be a bit unfair, but while I think Marte is good, it is not VERY good. Still worth a visit :)

Restaurant se situant en bord de route lorsqu'on se rend au Caramulo. Cuisine traditionnelle, très bien servi et relativement bon marché . Le service est très correct . À goûter impérativement à chanfana et vitela assada, leur spécialité !!! Je recommande ce restaurant sans problème !!!

Wij hebben hier twee heerlijke salades op. Ze waren van goede kwaliteit en niet te duur. De zaak (binnen en buiten) zat vol. Men kan hier ook heerlijk koffie met diverse soorten taart eten!
