The standard of cleanliness, quality of service and beautiful surroundings all made this one night get-away a trip to remember. Fantastic accommodation. 100% recommend to all. Would definitely stay again. First class choice of breakfast - extremely well cooked. Very comfortable night. Beautiful bed linen. Host and Hostess were so charming and welcoming. We felt really relaxed and spoilt. So many extra touches from fresh cold milk to make drinks in the room (rather than long life plastic capsules) to good quality biscuits and bottled water. No wonder this accommodation scores so high. You could not fault it. ?????

Nice breakfast but disappointing accommodation
Reviewed By mikepJ5802OYA disappointing over night stay. Difficult to find using the sat navigation. Room converted out buildings. Wife needed the window open in the night as the room smelled damp. I trod on something slimmy outside the bathroom in the night. This being by the front door. Which didn’t fit well. See photo. The owner said it was probably a slug !!! On investigation I think it was possible a young newt. See photo. On a positive note. The owners were lovely people and supplied a good breakfast.

The Mitre Inn is a traditional,family run 18th century village inn situated within the beautiful heartlands of Devon. Local Exmoor Ales are served in the bar, while the separate restaurant has an excellent selection of home cooked food, from beer battered cod and chips to locally supplied venison steak and Exmoor farmed roast beef for Sunday lunch. Children are welcome.Dogs are welcome in the bar.

Reviewed By Richard SThis Hotel is perfectly placed if you are doing the Two Moor Way Walk. Needing to secure over night accommodation I spoke to Seb over the phone. He was so helpful, inviting and professional I knew this was a good place to stay before we arrived. On arrival found Andy, Mary, Seb and the two young ladies who were waitressing, to be so friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The room was spacious, light and importantly CLEAN. The food was excellent and all at very reasonable prices. Would definitely recommend this establishment for a stay or to eat at.

Lovely b and b and an excellent host
Reviewed By JO BStayed here for one night, arranged at the last minute. The b and b was very clean and stylish in a way that reflects the Hosts Kenyan roots and warm personality. David was very welcoming and, while not overdoing it, was attentive and friendly. For example, he made us tea and coffee while we were sat in his garden in the evening. I would happily recommend Chestnut House to friends and family.

Having recently (Dec 2016) been taken over by owners Richard and Ling Swainson, they welcome guests to a warm, friendly and relaxing atmosphere. With rooms that provide stunning views of the River Ex, and overlook the hills of West Tiverton, their aim is to provide a comfortable nights sleep, a hearty breakfast and a desire to return.

Reviewed By Sue PJust got back today and had to write a review - we stayed as a family of 16 and we had a lovely time - the views are beautiful with deer that came up everyday - it was very peaceful - the house it’s self (The Otters) was out of this world, 8 en suite bedrooms, utility room massive front room/kitchen/diner - it was very modern and clean - hot tub was lovely too - will definitely be back

Previously part of the Stoodleigh Estate our Victorian Land Agent’s house offers excellent bed and breakfast accommodation in three first floor bedrooms. Stylish rooms within a traditional setting all with en-suite bathrooms. There is a large master bedroom with king sized bed & exceptional views over open countryside, a second stylish room with king size bed and further double room with en-suite.

Reviewed By wasza10We stayed at Barton House B&B for two nights and it was great. Catherine the owner was very nice and very helpful. The room was clean and warm. We had some off road parking and very nice breakfast. There's a garden area with a goal and a big trampoline if you have children with you. I'd recommend a stay here if you after somewhere please and quiet in this area.
