Visited this Taverna for the first time with my Wife for a weekday birthday celebration lunch and glad we did. While located inside a pub, the Taverna has its own entrance and has created a rustic Italian theme. As stated per previous reviews the staff provide a warm and friendly welcome and the Chef (Smiffy) takes a keen interest in his diners and was very solicitous, to ensure that everything was ok with our meal. While the menu was not extensive, there was a good selection of dishes available and all fo the food was freshly cooked with generous portions and was very reasonably priced. We will definitely be returning

I'm surprised to read so many fantastic reviews so perhaps we were unlucky but we were a table of 4 eating early dinner whilst restaurant was fairly quite. Seated promptly by FOH. I think the service issues are caused by not having 1 member of staff look after a table. In total we were served by 6 different members of staff, from ordering drinks to food to service. We asked for starters and mains to be delivered together as not everyone had starters, it took just over an hr for the starters to arrive and mains came out 20 minutes after - I wouldn't expect this especially how quiet it was early Sunday evening. 1 waitress literally slammed food down and ran off before we could say anything. No one checked if food was okay, no one came back and asked if we would like more drinks. Ribs and short rib beef were nice but nearly £3 for a dozen french fries I'd consider a lot. All in all left rather disappointed and wouldn't go back. There seemed to be little care given and when there are so many other restaurants around, especially at Festival Leisure Park, you can go elsewhere and feel more appreciated as a customer.

Miler & Carter are quite expensive for a steak house, therefore you can reasonably expect it to be good.The Basidon Miller and Carter was excellent - perfect steaks, very nice "support" food.(Why is it almost every restaurant in the United States can cook a steak exactly as you ask - ie.rare, but so few in the UK !).Very friendly staff member.We'll look forward to our next visit.(One criticism, if your website says smart casual dress, then enforce it)Thank you very much for taking the time to leave us your score and comments. We are so pleased to hear that you enjoyed your dining experience with us. We look forward to welcoming you back again really soon.
