A temple you cannot miss while visiting Sun Moon Lake. Very impressive with 4 levels each one contains many beautiful carving telling the story and military prowess of Wenwu. From the top level you can admire beautiful views of the Sun Moon Lake afar.

We arrived just on the opening time (9am) to find no one else there. After a steady, but taxing climb of nearly 600m we came to the pagoda and it’s accompanying great drum. The adventurous can climb the pagoda (about 8 levels) for a great view over the lake.

This pier is the gateway to Ita Thao island, another must visit place in Sun Moon Lake. Quite busy pier and near the pier are lots of stalls and restaurants selling all types of food.
