Forest Garden Wales

Imagine a garden where you can grow food sustainably for less work than a vegetable patch, that’s better for wildlife and more beautiful to boot. Forest Garden Wales is a garden on the borders of Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire. Here you can see how to incorporate fruit & nut trees, perennial vegetables and ground cover plants for food and to provide habitats for increased biodiversity. We have two sites, the first one was started in 2015 and is quite literally bearing fruit. We’ve constructed a wildlife pond, polytunnel, propagation beds, compost bins and raised beds. There’s also a makeshift meadow, an orchard area and a willow coppice. The second is an Ornamental Forest Garden started in the winter of 2018, demonstrating how you can have your visually attractive garden cake and eat it. To visit the garden, it’s essential to email in advance.

DOLPHIN SPOTTING BOAT TRIPS , New Quay, Ceredigion Wales are open April to October. We operate 7 days a week (weather permitting) and offer both ONE and TWO hour dolphin spotting boat trips from the historic pier in New Quay along our beautiful coastline in the Cardigan Bay special area of conservation. Our large stable, purpose built passenger boats abide by a strict marine code of conduct for protection of the local wildlife and are skippered by experienced boat masters. The guide on board will be keeping a look-out for the Bottlenose Dolphins which reside in the area whilst providing an informative talk on the wildlife and local history. On both trips you will travel past seal haul-out areas and sea bird nesting sites. Our 1 hour trips venture to the smuggler's cove of Cwmtydu. 2 hour trips venture further down the coastline to the peninsular of Ynys Lochtyn - a natural feeding grounds for dolphins.
