Vientiane Province (also known as rural Vientiane) (Lao ແຂວງວຽງຈັນ) is a province of Laos, located in the northwest of the country. As of 2015 the province had a total population of 419,090 people. Vientiane Province is a large province, covering an area of 15,927 square kilometres (6,149 sq mi) with 10 districts in mid north-western Laos. The province borders Luang Prabang Province to the north, Xiangkhouang Province to the northeast, Bolikhamxai Province to the east, Vientiane Prefecture and Thailand to the south, and Xaignabouli Province to the west. The principal towns are Vang Vieng and Muang Phôn-Hông. Several kilometres to the south of Vang Vieng is one of Laos's largest lakes, Nam Ngum. Much of this area, particularly the forests of the southern part, are under the Phou Khao Khouay National Bio-Diversity Conservation Area. The principal rivers flowing through the province are the Nam Song River, Nam Ngum River and the Nam Lik River.

It only take 3hrs from Vientiane to VanVieng. Lets spend a weekend there! It is excellent. You can go with your friends to enjoy the river ride, cave venture and hot air balloon.

Just booking private tour Luang prabang to plain of jars, our driver was fantastic, good english speaking during trip he's showing us many thing to see and visit several village. High recommend that he take us to visit Buddha cave huge buddha statue and hospital cave nearby. Thanks to arrange great trip for my group.

Emailed the night before to confirm pick up. Picked up from hotel by electric buggy and taken to ferry. Crossed the Mekong and then 20-30 minute drive in the back of a pick up all part of the adventure getting there. The waterfall at the park had dried up as it was the dry season but we had been forwarned about this. Excellent safety briefing and then 1 to 1 instruction on the zip lines. We were the only ones in the first group of the day. Equipment all relatively new and European manufactured. Both instructors were humerous spinning round and zip lining upside down but always focused on our safety. Some nice long lines and a twin line which gave us some good photo opportunities. Only down side of just 2 in the group is we didnt have to wait for anyone so in 40 minutes we had completed the course. We had a cool drink and a wander around the gardens before being taken back to the ferry. We asked to be dropped off in the centre of town not at our hotel and the guide facilitated this. A good half day adventure. Recommend.

My sweet dear Dokmai Because of you, we had unforgettable days in the 3 countries.Everything was very good organized. Congratulations! All the drivers were very careful and good professionals. All the guides were very polite ,very protective ,very professionals. They had patience and they did all of our favours. Two of them: Mrs Kamolpan Pawangkanan [Mam], our guide in Bangkok and Mr Satya, our guide in Siem Reap, angkor temples etc ARE 2 VERY SPECIAL GUIDES, TOP OF THE TOP!!! We got impressed that you were calling us, almost every day, to check if everything was OK. Also I got surprised when you refunded 62 $ because my husband, unfortunately, couldnt come in Cambodia for some activities, because of his busy job.
