We rode our bikes along the intracoastal waterway on a pleasant Sunday afternoon. We accessed the trail from Patriots Park in Venice, rode a few hundred feet down the street and hopped on at the pedestrian bridge. Officially, we were on the Legacy trail headed south until we arrived at the train depot, then continued south from there on the Venician waterway. Surprisingly, there weren’t lots of people. The trail is concrete and passes several parks before looping at the end. A nice pleasant trail with no street crossings.

Yoga on the Beach with Elin (twice in the am and once in the pm), drum circle at sunset, volleyball at 4:30, clean restrooms, lifeguards, and beautiful sand! Who could ask for anything more? Parking has never been an issue for me but many travel by bicycle. I love the mat halfway to the water for those in wheelchairs but I wish it went all the way to the water.

This is the best dog park in SW FL. I wish we lived closer. Our dogs run and play with all the others. Almost all the dogs here are well behaved. Can not wait for it to reopen. Darn Covid19.

My husband and I liked this little park. It has multiple benches to sit and watch the water - and people watching. Also there is access to the beach area with trees in the back, so there is some shade. We were there in the middle of the week and had no problem finding a parking spot. We drove by once on the weekend and could not find a parking spot.

World famous Rookery for FL bird watching. Great blue herons, white Ibis, Comorants all nest on an island protected from predators. Spring brings lots of babies and cameras abound. Bat houses are full of insect eating bats which come out after sunset . Great place to enjoy nature at its finest.
