It is a significant retail and commercial centre, and is the location of Brunel University and the Uxbridge campus of Buckinghamshire New University. The town is close to the boundary with Buckinghamshire, which is locally the River Colne.

Stockley Park Golf Course

Stockley Park Golf Club is a premier golf course and events venue situated in West London. The club was opened in 1993 with European Tour legend Nick Faldo hitting the very first drive. Situated just 5 minutes from London Heathrow Airport the golf club is a vibrant and welcoming venue for all visiting golfers, that has been host to both European Senior and Challenge Tour events. The modern clubhouse overlooks the 18th green and lake making it the perfect place to enjoy lunch or a drink after your round. Set in 240 acres of rolling countryside, Stockley Park Golf Club boasts a par 72, 6,625 yard tree-lined course that was opened in 1993. Since then it has hosted European Senior and Challenge tour events and, most recently, a number of local professional and amateur tournaments. The golf course was built with over 30 miles of drainage underneath that allows excellent playing conditions all year round. This has removed the need for winter tees or temporary greens.

This is the second year that we have returned to the Balcony Room at Stockley Park Gold Course following a very successful first year and the venue/team did not disappoint. We had 100 guests for a sit down three course lunch and the food, service and atmosphere was on par (no pun intended) with any of the other venues locally that we have visited before from local restuarants to the bigger hotel venues along the Bath Road nr Heathrow. As an organiser of many events the whole process is taken off your hands and dealt with easily, the whole team and atmosphere is always so welcoming and everyone went away well fed after another successful event. Thanks to all.
