Lake Walchensee

Reviewed By erintravels2 - Houston, United States

We had the pleasure of staying in an apartment on the lake. We had beautiful views of the lake and in the evening got to watch the sun go behind the mountains. We were even able to pick out Zugspitze on the horizon. At night there was no shortage of stars. We took a day out of our trip to relax and walk around the lake. There were lots of people out on the lake and it was fun watching the wind surfers. There are lots of mountain trails nearby. Definitely worth a visit if you are into hiking or water sports or just want a beautiful place to relax and enjoy the nature!

English Garden

Very popular scenic park, more internaitonal than its name would suggest, it contains a Greek temple, Chinese pagoda and Japanese tea house.

A sunny Sunday was the perfect day for exploring this beautiful park Loved watching the surfers, strolling along the tree-lined avenues and lunch near the Chinese pagoda

Konigssee

The emerald-green Königssee near Berchtesgaden is surrounded by steep walls of rock, with the 1800-metre east wall of the Watzmann towering above its west shore.

Reviewed By PenguinTux - Singapore, Singapore

Konigssee was not my first choice for day trip. However, it was a rainy day so I thought it was better to visit lake than mountain as it would be too cloudy/foggy to see anything from the mountain. We were not disappointed. The lake was beautiful. We alighted at Salet and walked to the Obersee. The walk was very scenic. If we had more time we would have walked to Fischunkelalm Farm. Please allocate more time so that you can take your time to enjoy the beauty of this place!
