Upper Austria (German: Oberösterreich, pronounced [ˈoːbɐˌʔøːstɐʀaɪ̯ç] ( listen); Austro-Bavarian: Obaöstarreich; Czech: Horní Rakousy) is one of the nine states or Bundesländer of Austria. We made a boat trip from Gmunden to Traunkirchen and could admire this unique place during hours. The Traunstein is impressive and the (after COVID-lockdown) very quiet lake was highly appreciated.

Very nice scenery to hike , there are swans, ducks and other animals you can see along the hike. Very clean water coming from the mountains

Bike around, swim in the lake, visit lovely towns St. Wolfgang, Strobl, St. Gilgen, take a boat trip, go to Schafberg by railway and enjoy astonishing views

This lake is very nice and can be reached quite easily with a short walk (or hike). The lake is nicely nestled into the mountains surrounding it. Can get quite busy.
