Hunnu Mall is located 10 km from Sukhbaatar Square and is located in the Nisekh and Yarmag district of Ulaanbaatar city. The Hunnu Mall is a three stores high building and has numerous top brand shops (good place to purchase electronics, shoes, backpacks, and other hiking & camping gear); an ice skating park (with a zambone); movie theater (featuring the latest released movies), a children's playground and a Go Kart track area. On the first floor, one will find the most spectacular Hunnu Park (better known to the locals as Jurassic Park). The center court yard area contains the skeletal remains of three very large Tarbosaurus bataar and a massive long-necked Opisthocoelicaudia dinosaurs. Yes, these are the real thing. As an armature archeologist I found this display to be outstanding. It should be noted that this is the only mall in the world that display dinosaur skeletal remains full time On the second floor there is a small museum in with a large collection of dinosaur bones, some of the highlights are the Protoceratops and Archaeopteryx. Most of the information cards are in Mongolian with English translations. However the English explanations need work as they are confusing and provide inaccurate information. Museum hours: 1100 -1900 daily. Entrance fee: Children T1500 / Adult T3500 ($0.55 & $1.28 USA). There is also a food court consisting of 5 different restaurants (ranging from fast food to full course meals) and several coffee shops are located throughout the complex. Restrooms are also located on each floor and are extremely clean. At the time of my visit to this facility, the ice skating park was packed with kids having fun. It was enjoyable to sit on the bench with a cup of hot chocolate and just watch the kids playing on the ice. The mall is located in the far south of the city and is not really worth the trip other than to visit Jurassic Park and see the dinosaur bones. If you do visit, I would suggest spending two hours or more wandering around the stores, museum and food court. It is an unique experience and time well spent.

I am partial to this shopping center because it is literally across the street from my apartment! It is a great land mark for picking up cabs and all cabs know Naadam Center for drop offs. There is an underground garage and a meat shop on that level. The main floor has clothing shops like Terranova and Calliope. The Nomin supermarket is there and during different seasonal times you will find other goods. For example, they had some winter coats out in the beginning of November, and now there is a lot of Christmas items. There are coffee shops, an ice cream shop, and a small jewelry area. On the outside of the mall are more shops, a bank, and a pharmacy On the next floor up there is a GNC where I buy my vitamins. There are cheaper places of course but the brands are the same at all GNC's internationally. I was able to find the same potassium I was taking in Mexico here in Mongolia. There are cosmetic shops on both floors, a hat shop, shoe shops, and a food court. The food court has Mongolian, Chinese, or Korean food. Down one of the alley ways there is one of the best Hot Pot restaurants in town called The Bull. I love this shopping mall, I buy most of my groceries here every week as well as my vitamins, inexpensive sweaters, and jeweled headbands. It is smaller and easier to get around in.
