Things to do in Tokyo, Kanto: The Best Spas & Wellness

August 29, 2021 Margarita Chappel

Tradition collides with pop culture in Tokyo, where you can reverently wander ancient temples before rocking out at a karaoke bar. Wake up before the sun to catch the lively fish auction at the Tsukiji Market, then refresh with a walk beneath the cherry blossom trees that line the Sumida River. Spend some time in the beautiful East Gardens of the Imperial Palace, then brush up on your Japanese history at the Edo-Tokyo Museum. Don’t forget to eat as much sushi, udon noodles, and wagashi (Japanese sweets) as your belly can handle.

I have been here several times with lower back pain (especially after long haul flights) and each time I have been given a careful and thourough evaluation, followed by excellent treatment by Ryo. He doesn’t just relieve the pain, he showed me some exercises to help improve my spine flexibility, and followed up with a video so I wouldn’t forget. I’ve always left here literally feeling taller, breathing easily and without the low level grinding pain that comes with long plane trips or extended periods of stressful office work. I really appreciate the care he takes. You will be in safe hands here.

I had a 90-min Premium Facial Treatment in Jan 2020. The “face correction” part was quite painful but it did help to make my face more balanced and my chin sharper. The facial treatment part was very soothing. The environment was comfortable and relaxing. The salon was small but well arranged. They even have a dressing table for you to do your makeup and hair after treatment. My therapist, Ms Michi, was nice and professional. Treatment price of ¥18,800 plus tax is reasonable given it’s in Ginza and the specialty of treatment.

The massage parlour was very quiet and small. We were greeted by one of the staff, who spoke very good English and booked us in for a massage later that evening as they were full when we arrived. The massages were well priced and very relaxing after a lot of walking during our trip. Our specific aches and soreness were catered for with a small form we filled out at the beginning asking where we wanted our massage to be focused. Excellent massage, next time we are in Japan, we will visit again. Thank you!

It's been years since I started having treatments at Next Stage. Right after my first treatment, I fell in love with this place! I have received several treatments from different therapists here, and suprisingly, any of those therapists have true expertise skills indeed! As for me, I love their focus on the "flow of energy." I really feel the change of my body temperature when therapist starts treatment. After a treatment, I usually feel my whole body becomes light and flexible. First, me, then my husband, my mother, my son, and my father.... now my whole family take turns and receive treatments monthly at Next Stage :D Thanks to Next Stage's holistic approach, I (we) haven't seen western medicine doctor for years! I highly recommend this salon to anyone!
