Seatales KohMak Speedboat

Reviewed By V8981UNdanm - Tel Aviv, Israel

Everything that was promised actually did happen and exactly on time except for the Bus to Bangkok. Their office is adjoining a restaurant, Tabletales Restaurant & Cafe, a very good actually, one of the best in Koh Mak. I mention this because Jan, the manager of the restaurant is the Seatales Manager's sister and all the communication was done with Jan by mail more than half a year before our stay, and reconfirmed once there. We had a tight timetable because we needed to be in Bangkok in time and were hesitating between a private cab (very expensive) a van or the bus. Following the recommendation of Jan and her sister we chose the bus However and despite what we were told, and which is written on their site ("via BUS (5.5hr)", the bus trip didn't take 5.5 hour but close to 7 hours, which was bad for us I still give a 5 star for the communication and the way they stood by their commitment for the boat and the taxi to the bus station at Trat. This is what we have paid: 2 speed boat tickets: 900thb Taxi special to bus station: 300thb 2 bus tickets to Bangkok: 560thb I do recommend using their service.

The Leelawadee speedboat is excellent. The trip is about 60 minutes from Laem Ngop Pier to Makathanee Resort (Koh Mak). The lady officer was friendly and helpful. We booked the Leelawadee speedboat via the Makathanee resort. We parked our car near the pier at 50 Baht a day. We took the motorcycle from the pier to the parking.

The speedy canal boat is a fast local way to get to various neighborhoods in Bangkok including to the Jim Thompson House and the Golden Mount. On weekday mornings and evenings lots of people commute using the boat. Going in the other direction the canal boat goes towards Bangkok's airports.

Chao Phraya Tourist Boat

Chao Phraya Tourist Boat (Blue Flag) proceeds along the Chao Phraya River and stops at the piers that connect to Bangkok's tourist attraction. Travellers and tourists can easily explore Bangkok with the convenience and safety when board Chao Phraya Tourist Boat.

We bought the 200thb (A$9) day ticket & thoroughly enjoyed cruising along the river & getting off the boat at various sights. Most of the piers have friendly staff to sell tickets, help you & a seated area to wait a maximum of half a hour. The boat was so relaxing with a lovely cool breeze, while an English speaking guide gave a commentary of the passing sights. We thought it was the perfect way to see Bangkok.

We took a private speedboat from Koh Chang to four small islands - Koh Manok, Koh Pli, Koh Yuak and Koh Rom. Excellent guide who looked after us well and showed us the reefs. Koh Yuak has a beautiful white sand beach to relax on and swim and snorkel from!
