Taunton /ˈtɔːntən/ is a large regional town in Somerset, England. The town currently peaks at a population of 69,570 as of 2018. The town itself has over 1,000 years of religious and military history, including a monastery dating back to the 10th century and Taunton Castle, which has origins in the Anglo Saxon period and was later the site of a priory. The Normans then built a stone structured castle, which belonged to the Bishops of Winchester. The current heavily reconstructed buildings are the inner ward, which now houses the Museum of Somerset and the Somerset Military Museum.

Formal gardens with scented roses, a wonderful walk through woods with a cascade, ducks on the fish ponds, follies and birdsong, a great café for coffee, tea, or lunch - and all just a couple of miles from Taunton - what more could you ask.

I don’t understand how there are any bad reviews for this shop at all, I’m dismayed! The bears are not overpriced in the slightest, they are of high quality, and are the price anyone who knows anything about bears can appreciate. I travelled from Lincoln with my boyfriend to visit the shop, and after an 8 hour all around trip and two nights in a hotel, I’d do it allover again 100 times, just to visit the shop again The staff are Lovely, the bears are priced extremely reasonably, with such a variety of brands, there is something for everyone. Even after visiting, I have exchanged incredibly heart warming emails with the owner, Elaine, who is such a nice lady. If theres one word to describe this shop, Its incredible Thank you, World of Bears

The Prockters Farm Car Boot Sale on the outskirts of Taunton is hosted by local Events Company Paul's Promotions. The Car Boot Sale is held weather permitting on farm land Every Sunday & On Public Holidays from Early March TIL Early November. The event regularly attracts around 200 traditional car boot sellers & 1000's of bargain hunters, onsite catering, ice creams & toilets.

Always enjoy going to this boot sale, as a lot of good bargains, if you know what you are looking for and don’t mind haggling a bit. We have also bought some very reasonably priced plants and veg. Would recommend but before you bring a dog, check the site policy, as dogs are not allowed, thankfully and it will save you leaving a negative comment cause you couldn’t be bothered to check the policy.
