Nice long walk and called in to this micro pub for a couple of glasses of wine.Free cheese board on Sundays, a lovely idea. So friendly and accommodating. A brilliant place in a nice setting, close to the seafront. Alice and Callum are very welcoming and the choice of ales will, I’m sure satisfy everyone. Definitely worth a visit.

Always a great selection of beers, one of the best in Sunderland for craft selection. It was our first time having the pizzas and they were amazing!

A quaint charming village pub, great service and rumour has it that 80’s pop band Bros played there after taking part in the village carol service.

First time visiting The Saltgrass myself although family members had been once before. Sunday dinner was superb. Honestly as good as I’ve ever had and we’ve been all over the North East for Sunday dinners . Service was great, very friendly staff. Order was taken quickly and food arrived within about 10-15 mins. Beef and Turkey really tasty and not at all tough like we’ve experienced elsewhere. Mash potato, roasties, stuffing, parsnips and Yorkshire all came on the plate. Served with separate carrots, cabbage and turnip. Couple of our party had Sticky Toffee pudding with ice cream for dessert which was very good too. We booked by phone a couple of hours before arriving and looking at the amount of people coming in during/after our meal I’d defo reccomend booking in advance. I was call this a hidden gem but it’s fair to say plenty people know how good it is. Keep up the good work, we’ll definatley be back.
