Expocity

Expocity is a very large collection of shops and restaurants near the Redhorse Osaka Ferris Wheel. The Pokemon Center is a must-see for fans, and there are family-oriented stores and a food pavilion.

Key highlights: - For children - Nifrel zoo, largest ferris wheel in Japan currently standing at 120metres, extremely large green space for running around, small theme park for little ones, Calbee, Sanrio, TOMICA, Peanuts, Gundam, Shaun the Sheep playground and few other famous cartoon characters' specialty stores - For adults - lots of shopping in a gigantic mall with many shops, and yet not crowded at all on weekdays. Large H&M, Uniqlo, Zara, MUJI, DHC, etc. There is a sports zone, and a gigantic book store - Food - many cafes and the "food pavilion" mentioned is actually what Singapore would call a food court. Huge space, almost empty when we were there on a weekday, even with a separate small area with cute low child-friendly tables paired with comfortable seating with high backings for parents to rest their aching backs. They truly know what parents and kids need at the end of a fun yet tiring day out with the young ones. Some stores in the food court have kids menu with cute cutlery too! Getting there: It's like what EXPOs in most cities are - a little out of town. A 40-minute journey but you need to change trains, and the walk in between is about 10 minutes. Don't get lost! Here's how: From Umeda station (Red Line); 20min train to Shenri-chou station (8 stops) 10min walk to transfer to Monorail Line (cuts across open-air mall) 5min monorail to Bampakukinenkoen station (2 stops) 5min walk to Expocity
