St George's Hill Golf Club

Given all the recent bad weather this course was in very good condition. We have had so much rain here, I was surprised that it was nowhere near as muddy as I expected. Some run on the fairways and some less so. Greens very true but not as good as usual as they had been hollow tined. This course is always a delight to play, every hole is different, with some great views looking back to the tee. They have also re-introduced their carvery at lunch time, for winter golf, so we finished our day with a great meal . Hopefully we will be back there next year.

What a day ! From the moment I called to book my tee time for the 3 of us, i just new this would be a special day.. the wonderfully helpful lady who took my call explained perfectly what we should expect from the club house etiquette and rules to the tee time allocation, we were looking for a mid day tee time on the old course, " Theres a number of 4 balls before you if you could put your tee time back slightly, you shouldn't get held up " we took her advice and did it pay dividends....we had a 12:16 tee time, so we arrived at 10.30 for breakfast. Delicious with the added bonus of free coffee.. we enquired about hiring/renting lockers, they are free to and the gentleman who was looking after the lockers and changing rooms was as helpful as the receptionist. Back to reception and the lady explained closing times for the bar and restaurant, she then explained that there were a few local establishments where we could eat at about 6pm. Over breakfast we settled on the local Italian went back to reception where the lady, I wish I knew her name, rang the Italian and booked a table for us....onto the golf.. Make no mistake, this is a tough course over heathlands with an abundance of gorse and bunkers, which is probably why the US Open qualifier is held here in June...however it is well laid out and presented beautifully, the fairways were in very good condition and the greens were true and fast..this is definitely a course where you must use proper course management....go of the fairway, into the gorse or the woods, you will be in trouble, take your medicine and get back on the fairway... After the golf, towels and toiletries are provided in the locker rooms and then back to the bar to review the score card.... I play a genuine 28 it has been 22 but that was some time ago, undoubtedly my best days golf over all... so don't be put off if you're also a high handicapper. The clubhouse is full of history and must be seen to be appreciated. It's not cheap but it is money well spent! Cant praise the receptionist and the locker man enough and must slap show respect to the green keeping staff for an excellent day.....cant wait to go back...

As a new golf player (just over 1 year playing) I was already terrified playing at such a big course. But seeing the courses in all their glory was stunning. The golf club itself is exquisite and the food we were provided (corporate day) was some of the best I have tasted. We played the marquess course, one of three courses available. After playing on courses around the Yorkshire area and getting used to them, this was a different world. A real challenge for golfers and a must for anyone who has a passion for the sport. Despite flashes of rain it did not hinder the experience and it lived up to the hype. I would recommend visiting the club website where you can see every hole and get tips on what to do/not to do which will definitely help!

We have already made a booking for next year and would highly recommend it to anyone putting on a function either large or small. Thank you Leah for your spot on organisation skills and to Jack Slade for the brilliant evening.

The whole team at Camberley Heath worked well to ensure the evening went smoothly. The room was lovely and festive, the food was delicious and everyone received their meals at the same time. The gluten free and vegan options were much appreciated! The waiting staff were unobtrusive and nothing was too much bother. We danced the night away and went home with sore feet....a sign of a good evening!

I wanted to spend a weekend with my sister, in an effort to improve our golf and make a break of it. I stumbled across Golf School UK and certainly hit the jackpot. We stayed at the hotel for a couple of nights, which was clean and convenient and enjoyed our break and lunch at the clubhouse. The staff were very welcoming and gave a prompt service. As the clubhouse restaurant wasn’t open in the evenings, we found a couple of fabulous local restaurants. Now on to the most important part, namely the golf and in particular Tom North, our golf pro who gave us excellent tuition. There were four of us in a group and he treated us all as individuals, focusing on the areas, where we needed to improve our game. In particular, he spent a lot of time helping me with my swing and how I could increase distance. Tom was more than helpful, patient and went to great lengths in explaining every aspect of the game. He took videos of us in the swing studio, where he broke down each section of the swing process, showing a before and after video, which he emailed to us to work on. Tom also gave us tuition on bunker shots, chipping, pitching, low shots under trees, putting and lob shots and we finished by playing 9 holes. This was the 2 day intensive course and although tiring, it has given me lots to work on and I am confident my game will improve. The golf school is an excellent venue as it has so many learning facilities. Tom is completely dedicated to teaching and very generous with his time. I felt he genuinely wanted to help me improve my game. We were very lucky with the weather as it was warm and sunny. We had a fabulous break and will be returning!

Played here last year for the first time on the Old course, attended this year to play the New. Again made to feel very welcome, small touch like your name on the visitors board is appreciated.Staff in the shop very pleasant. The course was in mint condition especially as we were in the middle of a heat wave and I dont advise playing in 30 degree heat. Found the New course harder to play than the Old. A narrower course with heather proving to be deadly. It might look pretty but I lost more balls in one round than ever before! Pleasant seating area outside overlooking the immaculate gardens. Everywhere looked pristine.
