Things to do in Seychelles, Seychelles: The Best Spas & Wellness

July 13, 2021 Yuk Petri

Sailing, diving, fishing and relaxing are the main activities for visitors to the 155 islands of this Indian Ocean archipelago. Mahé, Praslin and La Digue are the most popular islands. Mahé boasts 65 silver beaches, plus an array of restaurants, cafés, bars and casinos in the tiny capital, Victoria. The Seychelles are home to UNESCO-designated sites, coral atoll Aldabra and Vallée de Mai, called the Garden of Eden. Creole is the main language, but English and French are widely spoken.

We had booked a romantic couples massage mainly because we had a few days of just downpour of rain on the island. We had ordered a buggy pick up bc the island was pretty much 15cm underwater. When the pick up still hadn't arrived after 30 min of the arranged time, totally annoyed and frustrates, we decided to wfrustrated, the downpour and newly created river to the spa, having called ahead to the spa that we would be late bc the pick up didn't arrive. On our way there, Rebecca (spa manager) came to personally pick us up, apologized sincerly a million times (you could tell she was emabaressed of the fail in service), and brought us to the spa. There she had already arranged for our masseuse to greet us, bring us to the changing room, and then escort us to the massage villa. The massages were outstanding, one of the best we have ever had. Afterwards, Rebecca arranged for a bottle of champagne in the after- massage/relaxation room as an apology for the pick up situation. She totally saved the day, because little did she know that my then-boyfriend, now-fiance had planned to propose to me afterwards on the beach. Had she not saved the situation, the whole afternoon would have been ruined. We thank her and her team immensely, and would recommend the spa over and over again not only because of the outstanding service, but because of the quality of massages as well.

I have been fortunate to visit spas across the world and this is undoubtedly one of the best. Stunning welcome, breathtaking setting (including walking through a rock), exquisite service, tasty drinks and fresh fruit. ...And the massage. I had a 90 minute Balinese and it was exceptional. My whole body is free of tension (12 hours later) and my skin super smooth. A proper medium to hard pressure, for the duration of the treatment. I am currently planning how to fit the maximum number of further treatments into my stay. One advance note, for those that may be more body conscious/British than me, it’s fully naked. The sarong and sheets are used tastefully and I had no issue with it but it is different to what you might be used to in Western (especially UK) spas.

I come to this salon at least twice a month, the ladies who work there are great, special thanks to Cynthia, she is very good at what she does and very professional in her approach. I often come after work, and think they need more light to so their job better. The room is too dim after 6 pm, and i can feel the girls are struggling to see properly, which is essential for a beauty salon!

I was lucky enough to enjoy 3 massage packages at Sesel Spa over the duration of our stay. (Including the 1 hr wedding couples massage, the 3hr ‘essential harmony’ package and a complimentary 30 minute back/scalp massage as part of our wedding package). My therapist, Merlyn, is fantastic and ensured all knots and tension were eased by the time I left. Thank you to the team for great service and flexibility. I would highly recommend Sesel Spa if you’re looking for a top standard experience. Continue the great work!
