March 5, 2022 Kaleigh Reichenbach

Well-priced, all-inclusive beach resorts are the norm around Puerto Plata. Take a cable car to the peak of Mount Isabel de Torres, enjoy a concert at an amphitheater facing the Atlantic Ocean, visit the 16th-century San Felipe Fortress. Explore the nearby falls of Damajagua, snorkel off the beautiful island of Cayo Arena or play a round of golf in spectacular surroundings. Then discover the neighboring towns of Cabarete, a kite-boarding hub, and Sosúa, a picturesque beach spot.

The waterfalls were AMAZING! The hike up and walking through the water was beautiful. The zip lines were on the country side and some of them were very short but none the less still really fun with some amazing views. The horseback riding was okay. They gave minimal instructions and the horses seemed exhausted. The one thing that truly upset me was watching our guide throw a plastic water bottle in a ditch (on the property) when we were starting our ride. One major thing that needs improvement is the amount of trash and empty water bottles/cans/trash scattered throughout the zip lining area and the trail (dirt road) we went on for the horseback riding. If I could do it again I would just do the waterfall and zip lining.

I am deathly afraid of the ocean, so why not paddle board?? The owner Richard spent alot of time with me to get the basics...then stayed right with me all around the bay. IT WAS AMAZING!!!! I was able to get out on the water and stay up the whole time. Looking down the coral and fish were absolutely beautiful. I can't wait to get out there again....thanks again Richard for everything ????????????.. Bringing my spouse next week for lessons.

Hands down one of the BEST excursions we’ve ever done! My husband and I planned a graduation cruise for our teenage kids and brought a groups of friends to celebrate with us. After reading the reviews on both TripAdvisor and Carnival, it was a no brainer on who to book this excursion through. The cruise line chargers $20 more for the EXACT SAME excursion, minus the most thrilling part, which is jumping off of the rocks. Apparently, when you purchase through the cruise line you aren’t allowed to jump off of the rocks. When we got to the second jump, we saw a group of cruisers who obviously booked through the cruise line, and I almost felt bad for them because they were missing out on the best part :( The hiking part was a little intense, but that’s coming from someone who does not work out. For the hiking part, I recommend wearing thick sole water shoes or just a pair of tennis shoes you don’t mind getting wet. There are parts of the trek that are rockier than others. Ari was our lead guide, and he was AWESOME!!! There were 2 other guides with us, Winston (I think) and another guy with dreads (just can’t remember his names at the moment), but they were also great!!! The kids had the time of their lives. The rum punch on the way back to port was an added bonus! The bus was nice, clean and well air conditioned. We will definitely do this again when we come back to Dominican Republic.

From the Puerto plata hotels & villas, we’ll enjoy the beautiful landscapes of the Oriental Mountain Range as we drive the north cost before arriving in the small fishing village of samana at the southern shores of Samana Bay. There you will enjoy a quick breakfast prior to boarding the boat to Samana. We’ll cruise deep into the bay to whale watch. We will first reach Cayo Levantado, also known as Bacardi Island because of its close resemblance to the beaches Bacardi Rum once used for its famous commercials. Cayo Levantado is nothing short of a tropical oasis - a small island in the middle of the ocean with turquoise waters and white sands. We guarantee that your tour with us is an unforgettable experience We have the best bus and catamaran when going to the sanctuary of the whales the food is prepared with the best quality standards Our main adjective is that the experience is unique for each of our visitors

First we will stop at the mini zoo, see the typical animals, birds and then continue to the plantation. amazed with the plantation you can also enjoy different fruits The next stop is at Playa Caleton where the waters are calm and crystal clear then we continue to the blue dudu lagoon here are a different ways to enjoy the pool. There are several platforms of varying height which allow you to jump into the water (the tallest platform is quite the rush!) Or you can hang onto a metal frame zip line and let go when you’re zooming over the water. There are also stairs that allow access into the pool if you don’t want to jump or take a zip line. In the thick humidity of the Dominican Republic, the cool water of the lagoon is more than refreshing. Plus, it’s fun to watch others in your group jump into the water from the platforms while you swim. Then stop in playa grande to have lunch and enjoy the beach.

Priceless. Everything was good. The speed boat ride to the island, snorkeling, the clear water, blue skies. Best place to take a loved one. Such a small island feels like it's your private island and beach. A place you can propose to your future wife. I will definitely be going back.

I booked Edwin Tejera to pick us up from the airport and bring us to Emotions. Our Travel dates: April 17th - May 1st, 2021. Edwin was there at the airport waiting for us which was a huge relief knowing our ride was there for us. Edwin also had a cold cerveza for me and a cold bottle of water for my spouse which was very refreshing after a long plane ride. His vehicle is in very good condition as in like new...... I highly recommend using Edwin because he was prompt, courteous and a very nice guy. So additionally I used his services to bring us to The Residence Suites at LifeStyle Cofressi beach for our next week. On the way I asked if he could find me some Dominican cigars so he took me to the Cigar Factory downtown Puerto Plata where we were greeted warmly and shown the various tobacco's from several countries. We continued on to Lifestyle where we enjoyed an additional 7 wonderful days. I also contracted him to pickup my daughter and son from the airport and bring them to the resort. And to follow up I had him pick us up and bring us back to the airport. Edwin speaks very good english and is very capable of transporting you to any excursion or other venues. He answered all of my questions and I will surely us his service every time I visit the Dominican Republic. Thank you Edwin for your excellent hospitality. My Best regards to you. We met our guide, Winston, just outside the cruise port gate. Winston was an excellent guide showing us the highlights of Puerto Plata including the town square, Umbrella Street and the Pink Street. He told us all about the history of the Dominican Republic as we rode and walked, also seeing the beach and Ft. San Felipe. Then we were off to ride the Cable Car to the Isabel de Torres National Park where the Botanical Gardens are and the statue of Christ the Redeemer. The views of the coast and Puerto Plata were stunning. This excursion is a great way to get a quick overview of Dominican Republic in a short amount of time. Gives you a feel for the landscape, the culture and the people.
