We sponsor a donkey so as we were holidaying in Ireland decided to visit him. The sanctuary is tucked away so we were pleased we had sat nav? Unfortunately when we visited in November the weather was dreadful and we couldn’t walk around the trail as it was closed to prevent damage. However the donkeys were all warm and snug in very deep straw with plenty of food. They were able to walk across the yard and a couple braved the weathe4 to come to the gate. We had a cup of tea and a chat to the lady running the #hop and purchased some beautiful Christmas cards. We will definitely go back when we next visit Ireland @nd hope for better weather!

We have been to plenty zoo's, pet farms and wildlife parks but this was one of our favourites and we'll definitely be back. A lovely variety of animals from raccoons, meerkats, goats, pigs, emus to a reptile house full of all sorts of different creatures. It was great to get the talks on some of the animals too. We got a talk on the cute meerkats, Tango the macaw and Barney the owl. Would definitely recommend a visit here. Great for adults and kids.

For the past five years, I've lead a study abroad program in Ireland that involved living and studying at UCC for a week. The summer accommodations on campus are open to the public and are an easy walk to downtown. The Student Center is open Mondays thru Fridays during the summer offering an affordable and pleasant place for breakfast and lunch. We always start our week by taking the campus walking tour provides a good overview of the college and its unique history.

Triskel Arts Centre was founded in 1978, and moved to its current home in Tobin Street in 1986. Triskel celebrates its Fortieth Birthday in 2018 and Christchurch is 300 years old. As Cork's principal Arts Centre our mission has always been to commission, present and promote the contemporary arts in Cork, and to ensure the arts are made available to as wide a public as possible. In 2009 Triskel began a process of re-invention, partly because Christchurch, a beautiful 18th Century building, was to be restored by Cork City Council, linked to the existing building, and given to Triskel to manage. Triskel also began this process because it is important to continue to be relevant for artists, practitioners and the public at large. On 15th April 2011, that became a reality when the new complex was launched. We now act as an art gallery, independent cinema, civil wedding venue and a concert hall. Guided tours of this historic building are also available.

Art house cinema/music venue in an atmospheric old church, Art Gallery on the top floor and a busy little cafe/bar with the ruins of a 1,000 year old church visible in the basement makes this Arts Centre a must visit! The cinema always shows very interesting and eclectic films from around the world and hosts great visual Art exhibitions. A wonderful asset for Cork city.

On the North Side of Cork the Firkin Crane Theatre occupies a plaza beside the Butter Museum. The theatre is circular in plan with a circular theatre space in the base and a more conventional theatre upstairs. The home of Dance in Cork it also doubles as a general theatre space. The surrounding location alone is worth a visit, and it sits beside St Annes Church with the famous Shandon Bells.
