Its is possible to stay hour looking to this penguins,,, I took more than 500 photos in two hours. you can see the magallanic penguins and the maccaroni penguins. Roxana from Darwin Expeditions was an unbeatable guide who accompanied us on the island showing us the characteristics of the place and its incredible inhabitants: sea lions, penguins, and other birds that make up an impressive ecosystem.

Spending one hour on the island to experience the penguins was a once in a lifetime experience. You'll take a small speed boat, referred to add a zodiac, for a 15 minute journey from estancias harberton. Once off the zodiac, you'll enjoy an up close walking experience of the penguin natural habitat. Wear layers and a rain worthy shell just in case. The guide provided an informative overview of the penguins and various habitat explanations.

We visited the island with a private tour guide. He took us to all the beautiful beaches, look out, trails, etc in the island. Is was so tranquil. Wonderful walk.

While we were in Ushuaia, we boarded a catamaran for a wildlife cruise in the Beagle Channel. We cruised past both the Isla de los Pajaros (Bird Island) and the Isla de los Lobos (Sea Lion Island). Bird Island and other nearby islands are covered by King Cormorants. A cruise in the Beagle Channel is definitely a must for Bird Island and all of the other sights.
