I had a great experience at Spanish Panama. During the sign-up and scheduling process, they were always very clear and responsive, and it was easy to get things organized. I had a special request on how to schedule the 1:1 sessions, and they were very helpful in enabling that. The payment process was also clear and straightforward. Once there, I found the staff to be very welcoming. I was in a small group in the mornings that was either 4 or 5 people. The professors were outstanding - experienced and able to teach well in a group composed of people with different native languages. The tone of the small groups was very focused and serious but with time for fun and to build camaraderie. I found the sessions went by very quickly, as I and the other students were so engaged. The focus was primarily on conversation, but the professors worked in grammar lessons in a very natural way. My 1:1 sessions in the afternoon were also very rewarding. My professor for those did not speak English, which really made me work harder (a positive) to communicate only in Spanish. The two of us worked out a program on the first day that was half grammar topics and half literature (reading classic Spanish short stories and discussing them during the class). I really enjoyed the afternoon sessions and it was a great complement to the small group in the morning. There were opportunities to arrange special trips with the driver the school works with, and several students I spoke with had very good experiences with those. The students seemed to be very serious and committed, but they were a very friendly and warm group. I would happily return to Spanish Panama.

Buena Vida Language School

Dania is a competent and friendly teacher; she tailors the curriculum to your needs, and is a joy to have as an instructor! I highly recommend Buena Vida for anyone wanting to experience Spanish language learning outside of Panama City; Pedasi is a lovely village, with miles of nearly deserted beach only 3 km from town. While she has moved her school from the city center to her home just outside of town, it's an easy walk or fast drive to get there. I took 2 weeks of private tutoring, consisting of about 4 hour daily classes, and she gives homework to complement the oral work in class. In addition, Dania is very helpful in providing travel information to Pedasi, so getting there was straightforward; I took the bus, and she met me at the bus terminal to help me get situated.

I had a great time at the Spanish School! I have excellent teachers Iraida and Sergio. They were excellent teachers, I would highly recommend . I had Iraida for most of my four weeks there, she was engaged, fun, and very intelligent. She easily adapted the class to the needs of her students. She really brought to life the cultural aspects of life in Bocas de Toro. The other teachers, staff, and administration were all very friendly. I look forward to going back to this school to continue learning more language and Panamanian Culture.

Everyone is so welcoming and patient. They genuinely want to get to know you and see you improve. Whether its a movie night, salsa class, or dinner there are always activities to practice spanish, form relationships with the staff and fellow students, and fully immerse yourself in the Panamanian culture. I loved my group lessons with Stephany. She is such a helpful, fun, and informative teacher! We are still in contact and she continues to help me improve. I also enjoyed my private lessons with Gabriel. They were both so encouraging and willing to help me grow even outside of the classroom. You won't regret your time at Habla Ya!

A bit over a year ago I quit my former job in germany in order to start a new life. That said, I had always dreamed of learning spanish... When I started looking for work in Panama, I came across Panama Spanish School in Santa Catalina very fast, and therefore proceeded with the idea of moving there for about two months, to allow myself to slow down life and take the opportunity to learn spanish in a nature-loving environment, that I, upon to that point, had only knewn from holidays. Never ever have I regretted a decision less ;-) First, I settled in and tried to learn spanish with my grammar and vocab books on my own. Soon I had to realize, after ignoring so many advices from the friendly people in that town around me for quite a while, that you just dont learn a language from books - at least not to a satisfying level. So I finally got in contact with Angela, the always smiling, enthusiastic, open-minded language teacher that is so much into surfing and bonding people from all over through language... Well, I made the right call! I forced her to give me as much homework as she could, as I really was keen on studying as much and fast as possible! And she was happy to push me within few hours to a point where I clearly was unable to incorporate more knowledge :) So sadly after few weeks of studying with this amazing women, I had the chance to move over to Spain to continue my new way of life as well as my spanish studies there. Looking back now, a year ago, I am so so so happy that I met Angela, as I learnt so much about learning with patience, accepting, that some things in life just simply take some time to turn out well, and as well about how important it is to make connections with everybody whenever you can, as we all can learn so much from each other if only we stay open for it, and that no matter where we come from or at which age, we can always start learning something from scratch. This experience also helped me a lot on my new job (teaching people kite-surfing) I even thing I got good at it, having just so recently had the study-experience at Panama Spanish School, where I could learn so flexible in exactly that speed and way of doing so, that I needed. So all in all I am just very glad to have found the right person and place for the best start into my spanish experience. A year later now I am fluent and just starting now with learning catalan, as learning never should stop :) Thank you so much for all Angela!
