Things to do in Oxford, England: The Best Spas & Wellness

April 20, 2022 Merry Kessler

In the "city of dreaming spires," academia takes center stage. Gaze out at Oxford's world-famous university from the top of Carfax Tower before heading into the city's pedestrian-friendly streets. Follow your nose to the Covered Market for the makings of a picnic to enjoy at Headington Hill Park. Mix the historic and modern with visits to the 12th-century village church of Iffley and trendy Cowley's ethnic shops and music venues.

I keep having lower back pain due to my office job, sitting on the chair the whole day, and I have visited The Oxford Massage Centre seeing Russell twice already . I always book the OMC's Signature Massage with Russell because he does a brilliant job. This is the only treatment in which he manipulates my spine if needed and he always apply all his advanced studies to provide a bespoke and personalised treatment. He always explain to me all the steps. I entered the Centre in a lot of pain and I left feeling like a feather. The Massage Centre is spotless and they provide hand sanitiser, over shoes, they take your temperature and they also ask you to wash your hands with soap and water. Prior the massage I have filled out a few consultation forms. I felt very safe being at this Massage Centre and I highly recommend to anyone in need of an excellent massage in a safe environment.

Thy Spa

Reviewed By 194alessiaz - Oxford, United Kingdom

I've been to the Thy Spa on the 26th of August as my third visit and I absolutely loved it. The environment is always very clean and relaxing. I was welcomed by two members of the staff wearing a face covering and face shield and got my temperature checked at the entrance. Afterwards I was left in the changing room by myself, so no contact with other guests. Everything was planned beautifully so everyone would always been more than 2 meters apart. I then was brought upstairs where the amazing Ms Pui did my body scrub & wrap. Everything was really perfect. I had to wear my mask when facing upwards and the massause was always wearing hers. After the scrub I took a shower in a perfectly clean shower room, I was given clean towels and bathrobe to attend my massage. Hot Jade stone massage was amazing. Ms Pui kindly changed the temperature of the stones according to my preference and was always cheeking if the pressure of her touch was enjoyable. She then focused on all my achy spots and gave them a good shake. I feel renewed and 3 hours flew by in no time! Can't wait to go back, it's definitely my favorite treat for myself.

We did the twilight spa and had such a lovely evening. Yes as reviews suggests the spa is small but this was known at the beginning. The spa manager and beauty therapist were both lovely and welcoming. The massage was also amazing and well needed. It was my partners birthday and they allowed us to use the couples room to have our prosecco which was a lovely touch. I will be back and would recommend. Surprisingly we did stay the full four hours too which we was not expecting as isn’t the biggest of places.
