I booked this tour as a private tour and I am absolutely thrilled. Already at the pick-up you feel like a VIP because of the spacious vehicle. The catering is fully included and very good despite current legal restrictions. Great importance is attached to hygiene measures for pandemic prevention without having to have any significant restrictions on the experience. The guide speaks perfect German. Apart from that, he also speaks several other languages fluently. He really has an extensive expertise. You can have an excellent conversation about the cultures, mythologies as well as art. Although several sites are visited that are a bit far from each other, one is at the sights most of the time. The ancient buildings are fascinating and it is an indescribable feeling to stand in the middle of an ancient trade route while the guide describes life and events there at that time. At least as impressive are the waterfalls surrounded by nature and a park that invites you to explore. For cultural tourists, this tour is without a doubt a must.

I was in Fethiye with a group of friends and Akdeniz Adventures arranged a six-hour boat trip for us out of Ölüdeniz. The scenery was spectacular - water doesn't get more turquoise than that! We stopped at three different spots for swimming and snorkelling. I liked that it felt like just the right amount of time in each place without feeling rushed. The sea is so salty you can literally just lie back and recline in it - so relaxing! I'm not a super confident snorkelled (seasickness...) but some of the spots were really calm and I enjoyed floating around and looking at the the fish and sea urchins. (We brought our own snorkelling gear, but there were also pool noodles on the boat.). The captain was really friendly and the crew served us drinks (for purchase) and lunch. There was plenty of shade on the boat - great as we had lots of kids with us - and comfortable benches and mats to lie on on the upper deck. I was grateful it wasn't as loud and crowded as the "party boats" around us. It was just our group on the boat, but I was aware that this was a very doable trip in terms of "social distancing", as vacations during COVID take some creativity. Totally recommend it!

4. Fethiye & Ölüdeniz & Saklıkent Canyon

TURONTIME

Saklikent Canyon, which means "Hidden City" in Turkish, is located 46 km from Fethiye, where we will go early in the morning by mountain road. This is a popular place for tourists and fans of extreme sports. 16 caves were discovered here and it was proved that this place was inhabited during the ancient civilizations. It is 16 km long, in some places 2 m wide, which makes it inaccessible for amateurs, only with professional equipment and only with an instructor. We will visit the initial section, surrounded by rocks, the most beautiful and safe, and hike along the river: seems calm, but a strong current. Our next stop will be the famous and beautiful beach-Oludeniz Lagoo. You have plenty of free time for swimming here. Those who wish will be able to get on a short boat trip the Valley of Butterflies (Extra). Some say it looks like Maya Bay in Thailand; others think the Caribbean…

Went on a “private” group tour. It is winter and due to lesser visitors, we got a private tour for a group tour price. From Izmir, it took about 45-60min to arrive at the Ephesus. There was an optional rest room stops along the way. Our guide, Belkant, did a fantastic job of explaining all the sites in Ephesus and later, the Home of Virgin Mary, which was on top of a mountain near Ephesus. The tour included a good Turkish lunch at carpet factory. Of course, there was the “flying carpet” show to entice potential buyers. We learnt a lot about the Turkish carpet industry but we are not a big fan of carpets in general. So politely, we declined all their offers.
