Marilyn & Melrose Lifestyle Boutique

*PLEASE NOTE ~ CURRENTLY CLOSED DUE TO COVID LOCKDOWN* 'Click & Collect' and Website Purchases available. Marilyn & Melrose is an Interiors & Lifestyle shop, based in the beautiful castle town of Alnwick, in Northumberland. We opened the shop in August 2012, introducing the North East to the wonders of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint™, painted furniture, up-cycling and of course …. fantastic Craft Workshops. We moved to new premises on Narrowgate in Alnwick and the shop has evolved into a lifestyle store, largely because we listened to our customers, and also because it was a natural progression. When you visit us, you will find a vast array of many beautiful items for your home …. soft furnishings, furniture, craft items, haberdashery, scented candles, beautiful jewellery, mind body and spirit items …. and clothes too. There are three floors of loveliness for you to explore. You can be assured of a very warm welcome and four-legged friends are welcome too. Best wishes from us both. xx

This is a lovely, friendly local shop with a wide range of high quality products to purchase. They are constantly getting in new items and have fantastic displays. I often pop in for a browse and always end up coming away with something that has caught my eye. My most recent purchase has been some new plant pots to add to my collection. The customer service in Marilyn and Melrose is exceptional. ????

This gallery is a must visit when visiting Rothbury! Linda’s art quintessentially captures the sweep and beauty of the Northumberland countryside. After driving through this lovely area, her art is the perfect purchase for bringing home mementos from your trip. Choose from stunning, full scale landscapes to simpler, more whimsical pieces. Ask about her husband’s pottery studio, PottedHistory, which is close by as well. Cheerio!

Purchased from here several times, during our week long holiday in Bamburgh. Everything we had was top quality. Wonderful sausage rolls and scotch eggs, superb lamb (Bamburgh Parish Spring lamb), rare breed pork from County Durham and great rib eye steaks, from Northumbrian cattle. Needless to say we stocked up well on our last day!

We are committed to producing beautiful and innovative products from reclaimed and environmentally friendly slate to enhance Nature. In house designed for in the house and around the garden. Every product is handmade in our riverside workshop/studio and is as unique as every piece of slate that goes into its production. And slate being slate, our products are both durable and easily maintained. If you are wondering what to get for a gift you are sure to find something in here, I always buy my greetings cards in here as they are lovely, and there are always lots of lovely new gifts, I think the shop originally was mainly garden things however now they seem to have a lot more house and personal gifts too which is great. Highly recommend.
