Nidderdale Llamas

A unique interactive fun activity, based on a family working farm in Nidderdale. Offering Llama Trekking & Llama/alpaca experiences in beautiful countryside. Fantastic fun with amazing friendly animals, a range of options to choose from all including close contact with llamas, alpacas and some other animals.

This was a surprise Birthday treat and it didn't disappoint! We spent a lovely afternoon getting to know all about Llamas and Alpacas. We were able to interact with the animals in a safe environment before heading out for a walk with them. The Llamas were very calm and terrific walking companions. Even though the Yorkshire weather was atrocious it didn't dampen the spirits of the group. The staff were brilliant and very knowledgable about the animals and their different characters. We were each " matched" with a Llama and got to know them as we walked out on our short trek. After the trek we warmed up with tea and cake, a nice touch. This has been the highlight of our week in beautiful Yorkshire and would thoroughly recommend.

The campsite is lovely, clean facilities and has beautiful surroundings. The warden and staff could be more accommodating and helpful during the stormiest weather I’ve ever camped in. They even gave us some milk for a brew, when we hadn’t had chance to shop yet. I would highly recommend staying here and will happily stay again.

Beacon Alpacas

Alpaca walks most afternoons by appointment only, you can arrange to meet our herd of friendly alpacas, find out all about these facinating creatures and learn how to look after your chosen alpaca on your walk. Alpacas are curious animals so like to stroll along the bridleways taking in the views and sampling the fresh grass, occasionally getting down for a roll! We walk for around a mile and when we get back to the farm you can meet and feed the mums with their cria (baby alpacas) making sure you get lots of pictures to remember your day.

We'd booked a trek for 4 of us for our friends 40th Birthday gift. What an amazing few hours. We all fell in love with our individual alpacas and wanted to take them home. I walked Pacha who was an absolute gent, if not a touch greedy on the snack stops! Our guides were brilliant, so knowledgeable, with funny anecdotes about the alpacas little quirks. Their love for these amazing animals shone through. The trek was so picturesque and gave us ample time to get to know our walking partners. We absolutely loved it. Would recommend this experience to adult groups, couples and families, fun for all ages. Cannot wait to revisit! Thanks so much girls xx

Visited today for the first time and had a lovely day. I wasn't sure whether there'd be enough to do for my children aged 10 and 12 but they absolutely loved it, they did the pony brushing and goat feeding (my eldest daughter was particularly pleased as one of the goats had the same name as her!) had fun on the go karts, followed the tortoises around and fell in love with all the other animals - they wanted to take the calves and guinea pigs home! They were lucky enough to feed the calves, which was a lovely end to the day. The farm was spotless with plenty of hand sanitizers and sinks for washing hands, animals are very well cared for and staff were really friendly, we loved it!

You could spend days in here just looking at their wonderful things. Firstly their food section has quality meats and cheeses many of which are local. They have loads of nice chutneys, jams, oils, beers, sweet things etc. They have recently expanded their shop to include more gifts and wow they are wonderful. They have a sweet gift section which biscuits and chocolates galore and upstairs is more xmas decorations and gifts. The staff were great giving us a frozen goose and packing it in a box with ice for our journey home!
