Once a shipbuilding city, Newcastle's flashier claim to fame is nightlife. Throw in a heap of premium restaurants serving foods from all over the world and it's no wonder young partiers choose to blow their hard-earned (or not-so-hard-earned) cash in Newcastle. While these amenities are certainly a draw for the hipsters and culture-seekers, it's the locals that make Newcastle a truly special place to visit. "Geordies," as they are often called, embody the pride, industriousness and resilient spirit of their city.

Live Greyhound Racing every Thursday & Saturday evening, Friday afternoon & B.A.G.S meetings every Wednesday & Saturday from the heart of the North East.
Travelled down from Scotland as a treat for my dads birthday. We had a meal in the restaurant which included entry, a racecard and a welcome drink. Great view of the track from our seats and didn't have to move to place a bet as staff come round with machines. All the staff we met were very friendly, polite and helpful. Well worth a visit if in the Newcastle area

Located within High Gosforth Park, Newcastle Racecourse is home to the historic Northumberland Plate, and is one of Britain’s busiest racecourses, hosting over 60 all-weather and jumps fixtures a year. An ideal venue for all occasions, the racecourse hosts events of all kinds, including conferences, exhibitions, weddings, private parties and more. Newcastle Racecourse shares the 812 acre High Gosforth Park with the Border Minstrel Pub and Parklands Golf Club.
From the get go the greeting staff were lovely, escorted us to our suit situated on the 2nd floor with a view to die for, wall to wall windows looking across the race course. We had a free bar courtesy of our fabulous boss so the bar was busy as you can imagine but the staff who were very young handled us amazingly!!!! Waiting staff who again were just young men & woman were fast efficient and friendly Nathan & Cameron who looked after our table are well worth a mention they put up with some stick bless them and smiled at all times!! The food was lovely, I had pork, and my colleagues all said their meals were equally as nice!!! All in all it was a very good evening, oh and the DJ was cracking!!! Thank you Philip Roger and thank you to the Brandling House!!!!!
