Things to do in New Zealand, New Zealand: The Best Bus Transportation

April 1, 2022 Concepcion Newsome

New Zealand (/njuːˈziːlənd/ ( listen); Māori: Aotearoa [aɔˈtɛaɾɔa]) is an island country in the southwestern Pacific Ocean. The country geographically comprises two main landmasses—the North Island (Te Ika-a-Māui), and the South Island (Te Waipounamu)—and around 600 smaller islands. New Zealand is situated some 1,500 kilometres (900 mi) east of Australia across the Tasman Sea and roughly 1,000 kilometres (600 mi) south of the Pacific island areas of New Caledonia, Fiji, and Tonga. Because of its remoteness, it was one of the last lands to be settled by humans. During its long period of isolation, New Zealand developed a distinct biodiversity of animal, fungal and plant life. The country's varied topography and its sharp mountain peaks, such as the Southern Alps, owe much to the tectonic uplift of land and volcanic eruptions. New Zealand's capital city is Wellington, while its most populous city is Auckland.

Snowman shuttles were awesome, picked us up from our accommodation and dropped us back. Awesome service, on time and comfortable and friendly driver. Got us off the mountain and safely when the winds got up and they closed the mountain. Made the day so much easier.

Our bus tour to the Hobbit film set was on a Royale Coachline bus. Our driver/guide Martin was a top class driver that we felt really safe with. His commentary was excellent given us some fantastic information during the tour. The bus was in a fantastic condition, comfortable seats and spotless clean. Highly recommend this company for bus tours.

Ive used Trek Express on 3 different occasions over the past 3 years and are overdue in writing a review. Im pleased to say that Ive found them to be consistently very good. Right from your first contact with Janet when booking (who has lots of knowledge and tries hard to accommodate your pickup and drop off requirements and is very knowledgeable) to on time pickup and drop off from the driver at your destination. Ive used them twice for the Heaphy track and just recently returning from the end of the Old Ghost Road to Lyell car park.

We had to book a return trip to Christchurch when the train was cancelled. A great service with a very accommodating driver who dropped us off close to our motel instead of us having to get a taxi. Very comfortable shuttle with a rest stop at Arthur's Pass. Thank you for getting us back to Christchurch at short notice.
