Our full service fly shop is conveniently located inside the De Vargas Mall and stocks everything you need to make your next fishing trip a success. We guide full and half day trips on the Pecos, Chama, Rio Grande, Brazos, Jemez and more! In March of 2014 The Reel Life was purchased d by Nick Streit and Ivan Valdez and the store was moved to its current location inside the De Vargas Mall at 526 North Guadalupe. Both native New Mexican's, Nick and Ivan have extensive expireince fly fishing and guiding in the Santa Fe area. Nick also owns the Taos Fly Shop and has built a reputation as one of New Mexico's top guides. When he was 17 he was on the Junior US Fly Fishing team that placed 2nd in Europe. Nick has guided and fished all over the world, cutting his teeth on rivers from Alaska to Argentina, not to mention the salt flats of the Caribbean.

Operating under special usage permit to access Carson National Forest, Guide Jeff Fagan has a variety of trips available for the novice or experienced angler. Join him for a day of fly fishing the best holes in the area. You will enjoy a great experience in the majestic Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Fly rod, tackle, and waders are provided. All participants must provide a valid NM fishing license.

Taos Fly Shop is a full service year round fly shop. It was the first fly shop in Taos, opened in 1980 by Taylor Streit. Taylor closed the shop in ’87 though he continued to guide the area while authoring three books on the subject. After a 17 year hiatus, Taylor’s son Nick re-opened the Taos Fly Shop in 2004. Nick still owns and operates the store while Taylor manages the guiding business, using the shop as his base. We pride ourselves at being friendly and helpful, providing an easy going, non-intimidating atmosphere. We carry a great selection of equipment for all price ranges and experience levels. Whether you’re looking for technical advice on equipment, the “hot fly”, or your first fly rod, Taos Fly Shop is happy to help.

Fishtail Ranch Outfitters specializes in Fair Chase Hunts for Free Ranging Elk. Offering both private land hunts in Northern New Mexico and pack-in public land hunting in Southern Colorado.
