This zoo is really nice. Quite Big and we had a good time, especially my 4yrs old daughter. She loves it so much as she can actually touch and pet animals. The train ride was also awesome;)

We had theee generations in our group and found this to be a super great activity. If you are already in Oona - just buy the ticket, drive up, take a shuttle (15min wait tops) or take a 10min walk from the entrance to the observatory tower - voila, you are out at the sea and have the privilege to walk down a spiral stairs 4meter underwater. Think submarine with circular windows. What’s amazing is the clean seas and healthy eco system in the seas (fish and more fishes!). When we were there the Glass Boat was closed due to the less than calm seas but the tower was well worth the visit

There are several very nice roads (more like wide trails) through the forest. Google Maps will show the locations in Kise, near the Ritz Carlton and Marriott hotels. One of the most interesting is the trail from the Atta Terrace Club East Tower going east, following the sign to the garden. The ones near the Ritz Carlton and Marriott are sprinkled with the Okinawa graves that look like small mausoleums. My wife was somewhat creeped out by how many there were along the road between Kise and Ritz Carlton. I thought being buried in such a pleasant place should result in friendly spirits, if any were indeed there. The walk was pleasant on a sunny December day, when the temperature was in the 60s.
