July 13, 2021 Darwin Bolte

Serving as both the capital of Belarus and the headquarters of the Commonwealth of Independent States, Minsk is a hub of business and government. Although few older buildings survived WWII bombings and Stalinist construction projects, Belarusians are proud of their capital's long history and its continued cultural importance. The city boasts 16 museums, 11 theaters, and 139 libraries, including the National Library of Belarus, with collections housed in a towering glass geometric ball.

Sergey is the best tour guide in Belarus. He is very friendly, makes you feel comfortable and speaks English. He calls you the day before to confirm and arrives at your hotel on time. He helps me find a PCR testing center in Minsk before my return flight to the US. He even brought me mushrooms and berries at the hotel. If you're going to be in Belarus, call Sergey to pick you up from the airport as well as use him as a tour guide to show you around. He is great!

Stalin Line is an informal name applied to a defense line that was built by the Soviets along the new western border in the 1930s. The site is divided into a number of sections that include restored bunkers with authentic interiors, exhibition areas with military vehicles (mostly post WWII) and equipment and a reenactment battlefield. Walk past the bunkers, trenches, tank obstacles and a restored section of the old border line can be concluded with a prearranged tank ride (as passengers, naturally). • Experience the convenience of a tour with the freedom of independent travel • Private comfortable car with a driver who speaks English • Our company is the 5-star rated transfer service on TripAdvisor with over 520 excellent reviews

This tour, booked completely randomly, ended up being a really fun adventure.. Our guide, Alexander was personable and warm (and a careful driver). During the drive, he told us about the parts we drove through and made sure we were totally comfortable. This made for a pleasant drive. The castles themselves have something to offer to everybody: Nesvizh for the beauty of its rooms and grounds, Mir for its military artifacts and the history of the communities around the town. Bonus: Alexander showed us good spots for souvenirs.

In Soviet times, it was planned to move the capital of the Republic of Belarus here, for this they built a copy of the building of the Government House. During the First World War, there was the headquarters of Tsar Nicholas II. And during the Second World War, the soldiers of the Soviet army held the defense here for 22 days, the longest was the defense of the city, in all the territories of the Republic of Belarus. This is a trip to the world of 1000 years history of the belarusian capital. The most significant monuments, persons and legends of our city are in one tour. The city of eclectic mixture will meet you, where the spires of the old town are towering to the sky together with the modern office blocks, where old private houses' wooden walls are standing side by side with soviet palaces' marble, where Baroque's soft and warm lines are in contrast with pompous Stalin's Empire style. Mutilated in the past by wars and fires, today our main city looks clear and nice. Wide avenues and calm streets, giant squares and cosy yards, green parks will greet you and tell you what happened here over the last thousand years. The city of writers and artists, sportsmen and under grounders is waiting for you!

Communication with the company was great with quick responses and even checking in with me to see how my experience was going during the trip. The chauffeur arrived early which was great. There was some communication issues between my chauffeur and me, which was a little discouraging. The site says there was wifi, which wasn't the case for my trip. Each location was nice to visit, but with only 60 minutes at each site, I felt as if I was rushed and couldn't read all the information or learn about each site. This company did take the hassle out of trying to plan traveling to each location on my own, but I wouldn't consider them a sightseeing tour.
