Sachuest Beach (Second Beach)

One of Newport's most popular beaches.

Love this beach. The sand is soft and clean and the beach is usually not as crowded as some of the other beaches in the area. The rest rooms are clean. The parking price is reasonable and you can usually get a spot even if you get there after lunch.

Third Beach

Calm waters and a wide sandy area make this a favorite spot for families with children.

I went on a week day in September and was practically alone, which is what I wanted. No trouble social distancing. Water is calm and a tad coolish but nice. I was able to take my top off which is always a plus. Saw no facilities except portable toilets. Make sure you bring your fluids and food if you want it.

Newport National Golf Club

Newport National Golf Club is one of New England's finest golf courses. Located in Middletown RI, this award winning 200-acre golf course is your number one choice for a round of golf in Rhode Island. Newport National which started out as a landscape nursery is now deemed the "Number One Public Access Course in New England," by New England Golf Monthly. Newport National is a 7,200-yard, par 72 championship golf course as well as an open space tribute to environmental sensitivity. Built to challenge golfers of every skill level, including the best in the world, this links-style course will take your breath away with its beautiful vistas of the Atlantic Ocean and the Sakonnet Passage. The fescue-lined, bentgrass fairways, tees and greens will remind you of the great courses of Ireland. The bridle trail and restored natural areas will illustrate our vision of a golf course built in harmony with the land. Golf course architects Arthur Hills and Drew Rogers used this former nursery farm and orchard as the canvas upon which to craft their masterpiece. We are honored to have you experience our addition to the rich golf heritage of Rhode Island and encourage you to see it for yourself.

What a great time!!! My wife daughter and I went on the two hour trail/beach ride and it was brilliant the owner and our guide could not have been more professional and courteous. They are very encouraging and patient with a skittish dad and first time 10 year old rider. The horses were incredibly gentle and so well trained for novice riders that I felt like John Wayne by the end of the ride feeling just as cool as a cucumber and my horse Caspian seemed happy to show me around. My only regret was my failure to bring some apples or carrots for the four legged staff.

We recently just did the Goat Hike at Simmon's Farm and LOVED IT! Friendly staff, unforgettable experience and very informative, we learned a bunch about farm life and the animals there! We both got a leashed goat and the goats stole the show and really made the experience one of a kind! Definitely recommend it to others (couples, families, singles) anybody and everybody would love it.
