Jan Kilburn Watercolor Studio and Gallery

Reviewed By NChoagie

Jan Kilburn's prints are sold widely in the area and on Monhegan. We had seen and like them so decided to stop by her studio on the way to Pemaquid lighthouse. She was there--very nice and welcoming and we enjoyed seeing both her original watercolors and prints. Of course, we had to buy some!

Great collection of local artist's work. If you are looking for something to remind you of your trip to coastal Maine (Downeast), this place is one-stop shopping. Purchased an item perfect for completing a room in our home in Tampa and Susan shipped it directly to us. Great place to bring home some truly unique art.

wonderful store and knowledgeable staff. purchased a Wick Ahrens whale sculpture and a Jim Keefer decoy. We came back on our next trip in from ohio for another Jim Keefer decoy and the shop owner was able to arange a visit with Jim at his home and studio, what a special treat and day that was. Purchased our second decoy. We know Jim and Wick have since passed, but are still interested in their art. I also noticed on your web page what seems to be photos of Earl Martz sculptures. We are also fortunate to own two of his pieces. If you have any of their work available please let me know. thank you for a wonderful store . Worth the trip to Maine all by itself. Sincerely David ps.I put in March 2019 for the visit but it was afew years before.

Ralston Gallery

Peter's photos of the Maine Coast capture its essence. His images from the Arctic are also stunning. Should Peter be in the gallery when you visit, he can regale you with many stories. He has also been a friend and caring photographer of the Wyeth's over time. Peter also was a co-founder of the Island Institute. This gallery is definitely worth the time to explore in detail. It is a special place.

Wow! If you’re looking for an amazing oil paint class Will is your man! Our family of 5 (80years old down to 16 year old) loved this class! We dabble in “paint and sip events”, so it was amazing to get real life lessons and walk out w a painting of the lighthouse that we love! Will has so much talent painting AND instructing!! He was so calm and amazing at helping each of us. Highly recommend him!!! He was so accommodating and even allowed us to change days and add another painter last minute. We learned a lot from grids on the canvas to mixing oils. He was great and his studio holds gorgeous pieces for sale! We rank him 6 starts******!
