The crown jewels, Buckingham Palace, Camden Market…in London, history collides with art, fashion, food, and good British ale. A perfect day is different for everyone: culture aficionados shouldn't miss the Tate Modern and the Royal Opera House. If you love fashion, Oxford Street has shopping galore. For foodies, cream tea at Harrod’s or crispy fish from a proper chippy offers classic London flavor. Music and book buffs will love seeing Abbey Road and the Sherlock Holmes Museum (at 221B Baker Street, of course).

British glassworks shop.
We passed by after our visit to White Cube Gallery on the same street. Free to enter, we watched 3 men working as a tight-knit team, creating a large glass object. The finished work on display and for sale is world-beating. It is superb and beautiful.

Neal's Yard Dairy select, mature and sell farmhouse cheese from the UK and Ireland. We work with about 40 cheesemakers. We visit them regularly to taste their cheese with them and select the batches we want to mature and sell. Amongst the cheeses we select there is a great deal of variability. Cheese can change hugely, depending on how it is treated. We have a range of temperature and humidity controlled maturation facilities at our warehouse in London, run by a team who are dedicated to ensuring that we sell our cheese at its best. As the cheese is maturing we continue to taste through the stock to ensure we are aware of how it is developing over time.
We really enjoyed the Cheesemonger's lunch at Neal's Yard Dairy. The selected cheeses were lovely, as were the accompanying drinks & Emma our host was friendly, engaging & extremely knowledgable. It's clear that everyone who works there has a passion for cheese making! The only downside was that we planned to return the following day (Sunday) to buy some cheese to take home, but the shop was shut (as is the whole of Borough Market). Our fault for not checking!

We visited the Borough Market with the intention of stopping at the Ginger Pig after reading the rave reviews. We bought one of the traditional sausage rolls to try immediately and the pie to take home. The sausage roll was as good as the reviews said. We dined on the pie that evening and loved the filling and the crust. We enjoyed it so much that two days later we visited the Ginger Pig in Marylebone and purchased another Chicken & Mushroom pie as well as a Steak & Ale. As before, we loved the full flavor and the pastry.
