Togetsukyo Bridge

Reviewed By Cavalierjim - Aiea, United States

I visited the Kyogetsukyo Bridge in June when my family and I visited the Arashiyama area. We took a taxi from Ryoanji temple to the bridge and I could see the bridge from afar. We arrived at the bridge about 11;00am and there were a lot of people in the area. We had planned to go to the Iwatayama Monkey Park on the other side of the bridge, but decided not to go when we reached the far side. We turned around, crossed the street and came back across to the Arashiyama side. The bridge is quite photogenic and the river views from the bridge are real nice. There were a lot of people on the bridge taking selfies, so we had to walk around a lot of people in both directions. The bridge is an icon for the area, and one has to walk it when in Arashiyama. I am glad that I walked it.
