We did a private tour with highlights of Slovakia and visits to villages where my great-grandparents came from. I was impressed with the extent of research Juri did into my family's geneology to find the towns, churches, and gravesites of my ancestors. When we visited these towns, we were warmly welcomed by a town official and priest who helped us understand the history of my family's origins. I was blown away! Our tour guide for this trip, Tomas, was very personable, extremely knowledgeable, and an absolute pleasure to travel with. He was a very competent and reliable driver, knew a great deal about all the historic sites we visited, and made our trip go smoothly. I wish I could have spent more time with him traveling about the country. I plan to go back to see the villages of the other side of my family and delve deeper into the countries' history and, when I do, will request him again. Thanks guys!!

Hungarian wines really are worth the trip. The tour hit 3 local producers who were very committed to their craft. Tour guide did a fine job. Very little wine gets exported so it’s wine bars in Budapest and tours that get you the experience.

It was definitely an experience. We did it with my parents and my 8 year old sister. She got tired of paddling pretty soon. Wouldn't take small children and expect them to paddle the whole way. There were some nice places to stop for beer and refreshments. The weirs were frightening. On the first one, my dad and I capsized and I didn't have the guts to go down the second one. Everybody really enjoyed it and slept well after the journey.

We spent 16 days touring all over Slovakia. Our favorite days were the 2 day that we spent with Miroslav. He is an excellent tour guide and taught us all about Slovak history, culture and life style. The first day we went to Lestiny wood church, Oravsky Castle, Tvrdosin wood church and Vilkokinec Unesco town. The second day Miroslav took us to Bojnice Castle and Trencin Castle. Both were absolutely lovely days. We never had a dull moment as Miroslav described each town we past through including politcal history, employment and culture. Miroslav's personal tour was so much more informative than touring alone. I highly recommend his services.
