It is a cherished cuisine among Bangaloreans and the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law duo are preparing a lovely meal and also inviting you into their kitchen to try your hand at making these simple dishes, boasting of robust flavours. Had the pleasure to meet both Mithoo and her charming husband which to now I’m embarrassed to say his name escapes me . We had a wonderful morning of trying delicious Bengali style croquets with a lovely tea then we got straight to work making a delicious lunch of coconut jumbo prawns , mustard potatoes , poori and list goes on, an absolute feast and then lunch was served the traditional way of eating in courses , followed by an amazing mango chutney with papadams . This had been one of the highlights of my trip . If ever in Calcutta and want to know what real hospitality and real cooking Is take this cooking class.

I had booked the private tour of Royal Mysore with Five senses tours and we had Satish as our guide. It was an amazing day. Satish was a fantastic person with immence knowledge. He was also very caring and took very good care of us who were all first time visitors in India. Mysore was incredible and the palace is no less than Taj Mahal. We also saw other parts of this old kingdom like the old bazaar and few more palaces. The lunch was fingerlicking. Satish had suggested traditional Mysore meals and it was a great experience. In this 2 day tour, we experience Hampi the world heritage site with the ruins of the great Vijayanagara Empire. Even though the once proud city of victory lies in ruins today, it has a sense of timelessness. Over the 2 days we will go back in time and relive life in the 15th century when this empire was at its zentih.  We will explore magnificent temples with musical pillars, gigantic works of art carved out of stone, royal quarters, palaces and cave paintings that go back to the Iron Age.  You can call this UNESCO world heritage site as one of the world’s largest open air museums.

Mercara Gold Estate is a beautiful 12-acre estate located 8 KM from Madikeri. Whilst coffee was growing here since the 1960s we acquired it in 1998 and began a process of transformation by organising it into a well laid out farm with a wide array coffee, spices and fruit trees. Our vision was to develop Mercara Gold Estate into a fully-integrated unit, we began processing and roasting our coffees on the estate. We follow all time-tested processes with passion to produce our own range of boutique style coffee and well-balanced blends.
