Just spent a very enjoyable 1.5 hours in rye river brewing co. Simon the host for the tour is one of the nicest people you’ll meet and is very passionate and knowledgeable about the company and the beer. If you have any interest in beer I would highly recommend a tour. I can’t praise Simon enough. He made the tour extremely enjoyable.

Alison & Brian – Saturday 3rd August 2019 Carlingford Brewery, The Old Mill Back in early 2018 my sister tagged me in a post on Twitter from Lovin Dublin that said, “You can now get married in a rustic brewery on the Cooley Peninsula and it’s SO FAB” and at this point we hadn’t visited one wedding venue, The Old Mill was the first on our hit list. We made a viewing appointment with Des and set out on the road to Carlingford. Everything about The Old Mill is magical, from the moment you arrive you get a sense of being somewhere very special, soaked in history and completely unique. All it took was that one visit and we had fallen in love. We knew instantly this is where we wanted to celebrate our marriage. If, like us, you are not a fan of lavish, OTT and lots of white wedding venues then you will love the warm and rustic décor of the Old Mill. The location is private, and the land is just stunning, especially when the sun is shining. Words cannot describe the fantastic team who run The Old Mill, but we will try because it is the least we can do to thank them for everything. Des (Owner of Carlingford Brewing Company) is passionate, energetic and a complete joy to be around. Dearbhaile, wedding co-ordinator extraordinaire, is everything a laid-back bride and groom need in their lives, trust me she is just wonderful. The rest of the team at The Old Mill could not do enough for us on the day, I never, not once, saw the bottom of an empty glass of wine in my hand. The Old Mill was everything we hoped for and more, I wouldn’t change a thing.

Clonakilty Brewing Company

At Clonakilty Brewing Company, it’s all about The Beer! Visit the newly established Micro-brewery in Clonakilty. Meet head brewer ‘Thirsty Frank’, taste the award-winning beers and learn about the quirky local stories that inspired them.

Visited the brewery while staying with friends a few miles away. The head brewer, Thirsty Frank, showed us round and told us his story of how he started the brewery - a friendly chap with a real passion for good beer and who clearly loves what he does. Then up to the tap room (imaginatively furnished with great upcycled furniture) for some tasting - 5 superb beers were sampled. I've done a number of brewery tours, this is right up there as one of the most enjoyable! We'll definitely be looking out for their beers when we next visit the area. I'd thoroughly recommend both a brewery tour and any of the Clonakilty range of ales.

My Wife and family visited for some lunch and a tour. The bar itself is really special with attentive staff and a good varied menu, not to forget the beers on offer! I dont want to ruin the tour by telling too much, but I will tell you this much. Our outstanding guide, Dave started our tour and it was clear it is a small setup- dont let that put you off! There is an amazing story behind this brewery and the staff that run it. The staff have got huge influence on what is brewed and actually get the opportunity to taste and grade every Sunday! Thankyou Dave for a superb tour and thankyou for the generous and mighty samples we enjoyed! A wonderful visit all round. Highly recommended.

Dead Centre Brewing

At Dead Centre Brewing, we have installed our beautiful copper clad brewery in our Brew Pub right on the banks of the River Shannon. Serving a full range of wines, gins, soft drinks, teas and coffees…our focus is first and foremost on great quality craft beer from our own brewery as well as local, guest breweries. Brewery tours at Dead Centre Brewing are laid back, fun and engaging.

Nice funky spot for some informal food and beer. It offers a nice relaxed atmosphere with good views of the Shannon. Food was nice and service prompt. Staff were friendly and attentive. Nice craft beers. Prob need some signage outside stating the name of establishment and saying we are open for bis...as it looked very quiet at the main door but quiet busy inside....would recommend.
