When they say that they deeply care that all their customers walk out of their office with a smile, they really mean it. As soon as I learned that Iceland was lifting restrictions for vaccinated traveler I booked a 24h stopover in Reykjavik, with the main purpose to go see the volcanic eruption. I called to book a flight and they did the best they could to squeeze me in at the time I requested while several other companies I talked to simply said they were sold out. On the day of the flight, the rest of the people that were supposed to be on the same flight canceled last minute, leaving me as the only passenger. Unfortunately my schedule was quite tight and joining a flight at a different time that day was not possible. Vera took the matter to heart and did everything she could to get approval to operate the flight even if it was with only me onboard. Operational costs of a turbine helicopter are quite high and I doubt that the flight broke even. This is particularly remarkable, especially after one year and a half of hardship due to the pandemic. I learned when I came back that finding me a spot in the first place at the only date and time that I was available required quite some work due to the very long waiting list. Needless to say, the flight was spectacular and I definitely left with a smile! I really wish them the best, now that tourism is reopening!
