Dinosaur Station at Fukui Station

Life size dinosaur models in a landscaped area. The models move and roar. Short descriptions in English so that you know what is being interpreted by the display. Worth a look if you are near the station and a good photo opportunity.

Rekishi no Michi around Fukui Castle Old Site

Reviewed By KlapauciusJapan

A walking route around Fukui city centre, near Fukui station and the remains of Fukui castle (with the moat and modern office building). It is interesting to see where the old castle walls and moats used to be. The route goes around the Fukui castle moat, a nice walk often with different birds, fish, and turtles visible. See maps for all the places to visit, though visiting all in one go would require a lot of walking.

Fukui Castle Yamazato Entrance Gate

Reviewed By KlapauciusJapan

A nice looking gate/bridge across the moat, on the side with Fukui Central Park. It was built/restored a few years ago now, but still looks nice and give you a sense of the history and how things would have looked in the past. There is a small museum/information centre in the gate, that you can find up some steps once you're inside the castle grounds.
