Awesome view from the tower!!! The café downstairs is very good with nice coffee and hot chocolate and the best munkki in the whole Finland! (You can find many different things to drink and eat as well) Besides, Pyynikki has nice places to visit around, like pyynikin uimaranta (beach), the theater etc. Definitely must visit this place!

The Puijo tower is an observation tower at the top of Puijo hill in Kuopio, Eastern Finland. Opened in 1963, the tower is 75 metres (246 ft) tall and has a revolving restaurant with 100 seats and a beutiful cafe. It was the first tower with a revolving restaurant in the Nordic countries. The current Puijo tower has been visited by over 5.5 million tourists. The current tower is the third overall. When it was completed in 1963 the second one, built in 1906, was dismantled. The first tower was built in 1856. On the western side of the tower there are three ski jumping hills.
We were lucky with the weather & the tower offered ridiculously good views in all directions. An added novelty was the views onto the ski jumps, allowing you to get an idea of what it must feel like to be about to set off down one. Took the steps with 9-yr old boys rather than the lift just for the adventure which was good for burning off some energy before filling them with doughnuts (overpriced, day old) at the top. (Brilliant views from the cafe too, with seating running around the 360-degree windows)

Yrjo Kokko bird watching tower is a good place to observe the life of the typical birds of Lapland. Its typical inhabitants include smew, swan, white-tailored eagle and goose. The tower is located 10 km from Hetta by road 956. In the tower you can read about the local birdlife in the words of Yrjo Kokko who was a famous scientist and nature lover. There is a lean-to shelter next to the tower.

From the hight of 65 m above sea level, you can see the whole peninsula of Hanko, and all the islands surrounding.
