Entebbe is a major town in Central Uganda. On a Lake Victoria peninsula, approximately 37 kilometres (23 mi) southwest of the Ugandan capital, Kampala, it was once the seat of government for the Protectorate of Uganda prior to independence, in 1962. Entebbe is the location of Entebbe International Airport, Uganda's largest commercial and military airport, best known for the dramatic rescue of 100 hostages kidnapped by the resistance group of the PFLP-EO and Revolutionary Cells (RZ) organizations. Entebbe is also the location of State House, the official office and residence of the President of Uganda.

My mother and I did the 10-Day Wildlife Big 5, Murchison Falls, and Gorilla Trekking Safari with Home to Africa. Firstly, if you’re booking a trip to Uganda, you’re not going to regret it. It’s an amazing country, with beautiful people, great food and incredible landscapes. In comparison to other countries more renowned for their wildlife, I can say from experience Uganda outshines them all as you can see all the animals in numbers and from close range. Before arriving in Uganda, all of the organization went smoothly thanks to Hedmond and his team. Emails were answered promptly and always very informative. As soon as we arrived at Entebbe airport, our guide Benon welcomed us with a smile. We didn’t know it at the time but Benon would turn out to be one of the greatest highlights of our trip. I can’t recommend this company more highly and if you get the chance to have Benon by your side you’ll be very lucky. He always went the extra mile to ensure our trip was perfect. His enthusiasm for his country and its animals was addictive. Not only did he drive all over Uganda with us, he provided a valuable insight and treated us as guests in his country, always taking good care of us with a constant smile. He’s such a gentleman, and on parting ways at the airport both my mother and I were extremely sad to say goodbye.

It was such a fun experience that it made me crave more time in the pearl of Africa's wilderness.I had a great time at the top of the greatest waterfall and i also enjoyed the boat cruise at the Albert Nile in Murchison falls National Park. We were also able to visit the Karamajongs in Nakapelimoru traditional village in Kotido district. We got to know how these people do their daily activities and we were also able to join them for example in dancing. The safari was extraordinary and I believe anyone would want in on the fun too.

The guest is welcomed into the community and is allowed the opportunity to actively participate so as to explore and learn different elements of this culture. As a guest, it's the best way to closely observe traditions and customs like gender roles, food preparation, sex and marriage, music, taboos, totems, agriculture, hunting, and bark cloth making. On any other tour, one will be hard-pressed to find the ideas, customs, and social behavior of these particular people (the Baganda) on display in one place. It is such a rich cultural experience that will enlighten, amaze, surprise, and even potentially horrify some in some elements. Our aim is to help our guests better understand one of the major tribes that make up our country, Uganda.

The tour was very nice, the guide James was very kind and knew a lot of interesting information about the city, culture and history. We had great talk about difference in cultures. The only thing about the tour is that no admission was included even though it was mentioned in the info on website which was a bit confusing and as with every place you have a guide which then you have to tip as well it added up quickly why in the middle of the tour I informed it was okay as the money I brought along was gone. So if you take this tour bring at least 150.000-250.000. Still I’m happy that I booked the tour as it was a nice experience and a good view to get from a local.

Kampala, the capital of Uganda is the heartbeat of the nation. Almost all trade and commerce happen here. The majority of institutions and organizations have their offices in Kampala. The population is 6 million by day and 1.5 million at night. Our slogan is organized chaos. Thousands of lawless minivans and bodabodas make up our public transportation. Every minute in or on them is like being in an action movie. However, despite the frenzy and all the features of a third world economy, the people are so friendly, we are so rich in culture, it is so easy to get around and fit in, our food has a lot of variety, and most of it is effortlessly organic. The weather is also awesome almost all year round. At Venture Out, we are storytellers. What makes our tour unique is the way we go deep into history to tell how things came about and their impact on us today such that it all comes together for the guest in a way that clicks so they can appreciate Kampala better.

I had an unforgettable time on this trip and was pleased to have stepped outside the box and made this trip. I met wonderful people, learnt and experienced cultural history. It was eye opening to see how a rural small community could operated in such an efficient and self-sustainable way. Carol and James ensured that everything on the trip was smooth and paid extra attention to detail to allow the tour to meet the expectations of all that participated. I would highly recommend and will visit again!
