The Thórbergur center is a cultural center with an exhibition dedicated to the great writer Thórbergur Thórdarson (1888 - 1974) ) who grew up on the farm Hali. This unique exhibition takes you on an enriching journey through the life and thoughts of one of Iceland's most original 20th century thinkers and writers.

Kiddi's workshop is an open workshop with Kiddi's mineral and photo collection. At Kiddi's workshop you can explore the beauties of South East Iceland through Kiddi's remarkable stone- and photo collection. There is also a gallery where you can buy his photos and candlesticks, cheese plates and other things made out of shore stones from the Glacier Lagoon.

The Svavar Guðnason- Svavarssafn art museum is open all year round. In our gallery we show the works of Svavar Guðnason regularly, but we also promote other local and non local artists. The museum is located across the supermarket Netto´s parking space in a wood covered building attached to the city hall (Ráðhús). Svavar Guðnason (1909- was part of the COBRA movement in art. The name was drawn from the cities the artist worked in Copenhagen, Brussel and Amsterdam. He was a abstract painter, master of colours and light. He was a innovator and one of the most outstanding ambassadors of his generation, introducing new approaches which he and some of his contemporaries promoted vigorously. No entry fee.

A renovated building worth admiring in its own right as well as for the history linked to it. The Museum House is home to three excellent and contrasting collections: those of the Museum of Natural History, Tryggvi Ólafsson's Art Collection and Jósafat Hinriksson's Seafaring and Smithy Collection.
