The Baldwin Trust

The Baldwin Trust is a community based charity that provides crewed narrow boat trips, run by trained volunteers on Leicestershire's waterways from Pilling's Lock Marina, Quorn and Leicester Marina, Thurmaston. Our narrow boats are adapted with ramps and lifts, toilets and a spacious cabin area, which allows access for wheelchair, pushchair and walking frame users and those with mobility issues. The aim and purpose of the Trust is to enhance the well-being for people of all ages, especially those living with disabilities, mental illness or social exclusion or isolation. The boat trips provided by the Trust can provide learning and recreational opportunities to disadvantaged or isolated people and their carers which will allow them to maintain a healthy lifestyle or discover new experiences or gain skills, this in turn can improve the quality of their life opportunities.
