The Rose Tavern

Located on the North Brink in Wisbech, a characterful pub (Free House) specialising in real ale where a friendly and a warm welcome await both you and your Kanine friend. You will regularly find tipples such as Woodforde's Wherry & London Pride on the pumps along with guest appearances from both local & national breweries both small & large such as Elgoods & Tydd Steam, from the Wisbech area stretching far and wide with beers from St Austell, Charlie Wells, Batemans, Eccleshall & Brains to name but a few. Although dogs are very welcome, we recommend avoiding bringing them along during our busier time e.g. Friday evenings, our pub is relatively small and we would hate for your dog to get trodden on. Our annual beer festival is held on the last full weekend in June, where we aim to have a good selection of 20-25 real ales, sourced locally, regionally and nationally. There is usually live music on Saturday night, Sunday afternoon and Sunday evening to entertain all our customers. All in all it's a fab weekend, rain, wind or shine!

The Piano Bar at De Luca

The De Luca Piano Bar is Cambridge's only authentic Piano Bar. Open every Friday and Saturday night from 8pm, a live singer / pianist Piano Entertainer performs the best pop music from 1950s to the present day and takes requests from the crowd, who are encouraged to sing along. There is an extensive cocktail menu available.

Visited the piano bar with a small group of work colleagues. A great opportunity to really let your hair down. Robin rattles through a wide range of musical genres in response to requests shouted out from the crowd. Fun, friendly atmosphere and superb cocktails served.

The Ale Taster

Reviewed By pdjohns

This is real pub with a nice atmosphere and plenty of real ales to satisfy the serious beer chaser. Its different to other pubs on several fronts - the warm welcome, excellent covid protection for the staff and customers, a great selection of locally brewed ales and a wide selection of bottled beer, lager and stouts. The garden accommodation has protection from the weather as well as covid and the toilet arrangements - green light, red light to assist social distancing are an experience. If you are looking for a quiet drink and a friendly atmosphere you should try it.

Hidden Rooms

Hidden Rooms is not a nightclub. It is however, a great place for seated-service drinks. We're famous for creative cocktails, prestigious spirits and bespoke events in the heart of beautiful Cambridge. Although not always necessary, it is advisable to make a reservation for your party size of between 2 & 40 guests. Party sizes of 50 to 200 guests have private hire options including our Events Room, Cocktail Lounge or Entire venue. We have a range of daytime 'activities' including four unique cocktail classes plus dance workshops. All booking enquiries can be submitted on our website.

I recently hired the Hidden Rooms for my 40th birthday bash - as soon as we went to view I knew it was exactly the type of place i wanted for my party. I choose the cocktail bar area, it was the perfect setting, low ceiling, little booths, a good amount of floor space for people standing at the bar etc. From the moment we went to have a look the team couldn't have been more helpful, i was in email contact with Henry and Marcus constantly and they answered all questions and queries i had quickly and happily. I hired a photobooth (one recommended by them) which on the night was actually set up at the front of the other room which was empty and meant we had the entire venue. Also i had canapes from the wonderful team at Puddini (again a recommendation) who were brilliant, gorgeous food and a great team. On the night we were looked after by Marcus and Julie who was just brilliant, on arrival we were introduced to all the bar stuff to make sure they knew who i and my husband were and taken through where the booth was, where my cake had been set up etc etc (i also hired some large 40 numbers from the booth people which looked amazing.) All night Julie made sure everything was running smoothly, making sure everyone sang happy birthday before the cake was cut etc. things that can get missed at a party - to helping us with our huge number of gifts upstairs at the end of the night and even standing outside for about 20 minutes while we waited for our taxi to arrive! I could not recommend this venue more - classy, cool, well managed venue, gorgeous cocktails, it just ticks all the boxes!!

The Maypole

Reviewed By CultureVultureCamb

The Maypole has always had a nice beer garden despite it being located next to the multi-storey car park. Now they have obviously put a lot of effort into making it even better. There are new tables (well spaced), fairy lights, murals on the walls, planting and partial covers so you have the benefits of outside while being protected from the English summer. It's all table service and that's friendly and efficient. The staff appear genuinely pleased to serve you There's a limited menu yet offering plenty of choice: pick your own pizza toppings, pasta in various sauces plus meat or veggie burgers. We had a pizza and some pasta both of which were large portions and very tasty. The pizza in particular was super thin, clearly baked in a proper pizza oven and definitely to be recommended.

Delightfully free from hoards of fresh young students.. being able to quietly chat without wild music, gaming machines, or huge screens is just relaxing......plus of course with excellent beer. Very much a traditional back street pub, with super charm.
