Things to do in Bristol, England: The Best Classes & Workshops

May 4, 2022 Tambra Mccollister

Bristol is a quirky British city with beautiful hilly vistas and plenty of historic sights to explore. Anyone interested in ships will have a blast aboard Brunel’s SS Great Britain, the world’s first great oceanliner, and the Matthew, a replica of the ship upon which John Cabot sailed to America in the 15th century. The graceful Clifton Suspension Bridge is another must-see.

We have a large craft supplies shop selling stained glass and fusing materials, tools and kilns.

Had an amazing weekend with my wife on the fusing and slumping course. EJ is an amazing teacher and really knew her stuff and she never seemed to get flustered or annoyed at repetitive questions. Was very happy to adapt the course in response to our questions. If we were after anything specific that wasn't in the room they supplied it from the shop. No limit to the number of pieces of work you could create Lunch that was supplied was also very good. Drinks hot and cold supplied thru the day as well as cake in the afternoon. We are already thinking about doing the next two course as well once we have used and improved our skills learnt...and once our work has been posted to us. Also have to mention the shop... Wow designed to empty bank account as there is so much that is desirable. All staff are friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable I cannot recommend Creative Glass Guild highly enough

the class was well organised and well set out. My husband and I loved the bread making class and the cinnamon buns were delicious. I suggest a white board is needed to write the recipes on so bakers can see the difference in quantities, I look forward to going on another course soon.

Enjoyed a lovely afternoon decorating pottery to celebrate a baby shower. Jenny is a wonderful host, very welcoming and gave excellent advice so we could do a good job with our projects. Lots of different things to choose from, ornaments, plates, mugs, plaques and even teapots. After painting and decorating we had our own buffet and celebratory cake. Jenny supplies crockery, cutlery and tea and coffee. If you are looking for something a bit different and creative this is an ideal place to come.
