Things to do in Bratislava Region, Slovakia: The Best City Tours

November 28, 2021 Harland Bartelt

Bordering both Austria and Hungary and couched between the Danube and the Little Carpathian Mountains, Bratislava is a picturesque city whose natural surroundings are rivaled only by its own historic architecture. Dating back centuries, the Old Town is home to numerous historic churches, castles, galleries and museums, including the Museum of Jewish Culture and Bratislava City Museum. The surviving fortifications at Michael's Gate provide a glimpse into the medieval history of the city.

We never got to take the day trip to Austria tour we prepaid for last summer due to the pandemic. Sure it would’ve been nice. I was, however, frustrated about the refund policy! Not only was the company a stickler about not giving us a full refund (though it was not our choice to cancel), they would only issue the refund through Pay Pal which charged us an additional international fee! What a rip off! Very disappointed at their overall lack of flexibility. Consumer beware!!

We went on a wine tasting tour, as part of Bachelorette Party. We were enchanted throughout the tour. We enjoyed every minute, and we even learned a lot of interesting things about wines. I must also commend the sommelier who presented the wines to us. She knew how to answer every question we had and her presentation of wines was very interesting. The guide who accompanied us throughout the tour was incredibly nice, smiling and educated as well. I would recommend it to everyone. The only disadvantage was that time passed very quickly :)
